Place was cozy and quaint! Service was excellent and so was the food! We will definitely be back here when visiting Kentucky Downs!

This was our first time here and definitely won't be the last. The restaurant looks high end, but there did not seem to be a dress code. We started with the asparagus fries which were delicious. The asparagus was not overcooked. It was just cooked enough to keep its shape and also hold the breading. My husband got the ribeye, I got the pork chop, and we shared the mashed potatoes. The ribeye was the star here. The pork chop was still good though! It had a crispy top, which I really enjoyed and the sauce was a game changer. The potatoes were heavy on the garlic but in the best way. Our server, Zoie, was very nice as well. Ps don't skip out on the rolls.

While I was very pleased with my experience, there were just a few details that held me back from a 5* rating. One of those fine points is, quite honestly, I've had better at similar high end steakhouses. The high point was the wonderful steak I had. Read on to the end for the wonderful news about that. Part of my rating is based on the fact that my experience was not off to a great start. When dining alone, it seems to be trend to be offered a seat at the bar. I had a reservation and was still offered a bar stool. This bothered me. Even though the hostess was very nice, I felt like I was being steered away from a table for two, as if they wanted to maximize their occupancy rate at real tables.My grumbling continued as I was seated near the kitchen and the noise was just a bit much. At a 4 or 5 star restaurant, it was my feeling that no table should be subjected to kitchen noise.Stefan was my server at this table and was very helpful and nice. He got with the manager when I asked to be reseated and was brought back in the main seating area and I was happy. Zoie was my new server and my partial order with Stefan transferred without issue. Unfortunately, when you order a steak, you get a steak without sides. Eight dollars for a side dish is not exorbitant at a high end restaurant, but none of the descriptions motivated me to try one. This left my wonderful steak looking very lonely as it was plated by itself. Would it hurt to put a scoop of rice next to it?"Pittsburgh Rare" is my steak preparation of choice. I had no reservations about ordering it here. The Ribeye Steak they brought me was one of the best "Pittsburgh Rare" piece of beef I've ever enjoyed. It was perfect.Now for the back story. Zoie told me that they just recently had a meeting on ""Pittsburgh Rare" and I was her first customer to order my steak that way. Than brought Renee, the manager over to get my impression and both of these ladies were glad that I was knowledgeable about this and gave anointed it as excellent. Compliments immediately went to the kitchen.As for value, the meal justified the typically higher price of an excellent steak house.In all honesty, I may not visit this restaurant again as Nashville has several steakhouses that are just a touch better and a lot closer. I will probably just get something at the Corner Cafe, which is the casual restaurant right next to it inside the casino.

For Franklin, KY, this place is a hit if you're searching for good steak and a nice dinner for work, community, or simply just an elegant dinner spot with great service and terrific atmosphere.

Onion soup to die for. Melted cheese and loads of it! Grilled shrimp appetizer, 5 large shrimp . Cyndi had a huge salad with chicken. I took the Blackberry cheese cake to go! We ate at the Bar. Two bartenders were at our beck and call. Ambiance similar to a Chicago or Manhattan Bar...

I e eaten here a few times now and have always had an excellent experience. Wonderful service. Very attentive. The food has always been very good. I've tried several different menu items and every one has been outstanding. Highly recommend.
