#93 -2021Grumble grumble November 20th goes belly clock feed me.It had a hankering for a cheeseburger with bacon old-fashioned style.So as I was tooling along 40 out of Jackson headed towards the yard in Nashville I decided to stay on 40 instead of peeling off on the bypass 840 at Dickson and hit up the Petro.Because although their buffets and salad bars are long gone one thing iron skillet is known for is a good old-fashioned cheeseburger It's done the way a cheeseburger should be.So I motored off the interchange pulled in found the parking spot sauntered on in.This used to be known as a quick Skillet with a tiny menu it's still the same size because this is more of a Petro too like a not a huge travel center size never has been they've had a few of these through the years.But I did notice it does become a full iron skillet now post covid.I walked in I could see Heather the waitress was busting butt doing what she could do.First thing I noticed was the closings on the sign due to staffing which seems to be everywhere so she flat out said it's going to be a little bit till I get to you I said that's okay can you just bring me a diet Pepsi and I'll just idle here happily. She brought me a diet Pepsi everything was good about 14 minutes later she came back and said okay I'll take your order now I said cool I'll take a bacon cheeseburger no pickle or onion no pickles on the plate french fries and that'll be great.People must have been hungry in there though because they didn't mind the fact that she was the only one busting hump and they had a bunch of no shows, so she was just doing what she could do the whole little dining area.No gripes or grumbles or bitches and moaners walking out everybody patiently sat ordering real food where you can still sit down.My burger came out just like I liked it I bit into it it was nice and juicy!! bacon was nice and crisp yummers!! I decided to make a Steak Burger splashed on some A-1™on it tasted great. I was allowed to relax take my time I didn't feel rushed that evening it was nice enjoyed my food let it settle for a while looked at the Bell everything totaled out $16.15 and I thought you know what she's busting her ass doing a great job keep up the good work I just flipped the 20 on the table and said the rest is yours have a good night.All in all this was a very good iron skillet still the cook did a great job on the burger she did a great job trying to keep things in line all by yourself with a whole dining room to take care of.

We were looking for a breakfast place that was open as early as 6 am and found this place inside a truck stop. We had French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy and sides of eggs and meats. Everything was cooked perfectly and you could tell nothing was frozen. Bacon was crispy and sausage was like homemade. Our waitress Violet was awesome, very friendly and funny. Definitely stop here for some great breakfast!
