InsideOut is a cool gym. It's small and hidden, but I think members enjoy that about it. I visited once for a tour and another time on a guest pass to try out a TRX class. The gym was very clean, staff was welcoming, and you tell that folks really get to know each other. The TRX class was amazing! I think the instructor adjusted a bit for having a few newbies (which really pissed off one of the regulars. She groaned and complained for half the class... seriously) but that didn't mean it was easy. TRX classes are normally pretty pricey, so it's cool that members can attend these classes, along with yoga, spinning, rowing, and Zumba without paying additional fees. My cons are the size, weekend hours, and variety of classes. The gym is pretty small. I need a bit more room and maybe a sauna or pool. Also, the weekend hours are very condensed and I don't think I'm their target demographic with the classes offered. I'm more into HIIT, boot camp, and barre classes than spinning and rowing, which take up a big chunk of their class schedule. Classes must also be scheduled in person through sign up sheets and members can't register or cancel online.Overall, it's not for me, but I would recommend folks checking this place out. It's got a great central location and lots to offer if you're looking for a welcoming community.

I recently rejoined this gym again after a ten year hiatus. It took less than one minute to remember why I LOVE this place so much. Longtime members and STAFF I hadn't seen in forever, still remembered me and welcomed me back with smiles & enthusiasm. This isn't your typical cold, fluorescent, smelly, and sweaty gym...in fact, none of those words can be used to describe InsideOut Gym. This is a gym where you can talk to any number of staff, owners and personal trainers, ask questions and be shown the answer. Tons of classes for any activity level...beginner to professional (there are some Boston Marathoners & professional Triathlete's here). Staff and members will become part of your workout community, supporting and encouraging you every step of the way. You won't regret visiting or joining! InsideOut, out-gyms any other place in town!

I joined Inside Out about 3 weeks ago. As the other reviewer stated, they do have some awesome classes!! When I signed up, I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. It's a small gym. A small gym means personal attention, people who know your name, accountability!!! It also means having to sign up for classes (which I don't mind, since it makes you accountable), and less equipment and space. When I signed up, I asked questions. I asked about busy times, I asked about slow times. I made sure that they would have equipment and space available to me when I needed it. I don't just sign up for gym memberships and not go...I have been at different hours on different days. I have never had a problem finding a piece of equipment to use. They have kettle bells, and machines, and medicine balls. They have small stretching rooms with foam rollers and ab rollers.I don't think there is anything that I lack in this gym. If you need a lot of space (for whatever reason), you would know that this is not the place for you when you walk in the door. BUT it's definitely bigger than you think it is. There are plenty of small rooms, and they will let you bring the weights into the small rooms if you would like :-)I think the most important thing you can take from this review...ask questions. Make sure you find the right gym for you!! Whatever that may be!

Full range of equipment and programs. Cardio and nautilus style machines, free weights, yoga, TRX, rowing, and spinning rooms, which you are allowed to use solo when no class is going on. Also has nice shower rooms and on staff massage therapist. Free weight enthusiasts will be disappointed in the floor space allotted - only one person can really workout in that area without tripping over another. You have to sign up for classes each week on Sunday. If you don't know what times you will be able to make it for the entire week, you will either sign up for slots you can't use or not be able to get into classes you could have attended. There are also no types of classes (rowing, spinning, etc.) that are held at the same time every day. The individual classes do have a consistent schedule though, so like the rowing class that's taught at 6am on Monday is always taught on 6am on Monday - but there's no classes at 6am on any other day and on Tuesday, the first rowing class may be at like 8am or something - just an example, I don't remember the exact schedule. Also, the trainer I hired never performed the initial measurements on me she stated she needed and it took weeks to get an explanation of what/how she wanted me to work out between our sessions. She had to delay our appointment twice and cancelled once. She also restricted me to the stationary bikes and low weight work on nautilus machines when my stated goal was to build strength, which I thought odd. These three aspects killed my use for the place, but for someone with the right schedule and/or love of cardio + nautilus, it would be a great gym. It's all C-Y locals and everyone is very friendly - great place to meet folks in the neighborhood, really.

I think this Gym is fabulous!!....I only wish I had found out about it before I joined the Kroc Center....but then I wanted a place with a pool so I still would have joined the Kroc Center anyway. They have a wide variety of machines and I particularly enjoyed the rowing and TRX classes that I took. The staff is VERY personable and seems very invested in your fitness goals. The regulars there seem to be like family and keep each other accountable. Well I may not join because i still want a place with a pool...but I definitely plan to take the occasional classes here since the training is top notch. Not to mention...I live right around the corner :-)

InsideOut Gym is as good as it gets when it comes to gyms! I joined in 2007 after looking for a small gym with a personal feel. I had always steered clear of the large crowded gyms. I found what I was looking for and more. I felt welcomed from my initial visit. The owners are awesome and the staff is top-notch. The gym offers free classes and there is always something new to learn to keep your workout fresh and challenging. There are personal trainers on staff if you like more personalized training. The support that you receive from the members and staff on your fitness journey is second to none.If you are looking for an easy going atmosphere where you can get your maximum workout, InsideOut Gym is the place!
