ICEHOUSE

So, my wife and I were looking for something close and are tired of the usual El Nopal or Olympic Steak & Pizza on a Sunday. This is my type of beer place, for sure. I am a self proclaimed beer snob so having options other than the usual Miller Lite, Mich Ultra, or Lord forbid the fruity Bud Light is awesome. Their menu is pretty limited. One burger option, a handful of flatbreads or a pretzel, that's it. I'd like to see some wings or some burger options and even a salad or two for the tagalong wives or girlfriends would be nice. We ordered a couple of flatbread pizzas. They were a little thick for our tastes but VERY good nonetheless. We had a veggie and a sausage. A couple came in after us and ordered burgers and they looked great. Maybe next time. Service was okay. Dude seemed a little distracted but it might be because he was the only one left on a Sunday evening. I had a Batlast Red IPA which was also delicious!I'll be back but I'll probably have to talk my wife into it.

Let's talk about the service first and foremost. This is some of the most personable service I've experienced in a while. The guy who waited on us was like chatting with an old friend! I've never met him before, but it felt like we'd been acquaintances for years!We stopped in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. So the ambiance was subtle and relaxing. Some old blues tunes were playing through the sound system, which made the atmosphere just that much more inviting! The aroma wafting from the kitchen was antagonizing my, already, empty stomach....I couldn't wait for the burgers to hit the table!We watched others getting their food as we waited our turn and it was extremely enticing. From the flatbreads to burgers to the oversized pretzels on the menu! They seem to be covering the gambit of what a hungry appetite would be looking for. I went with the burger...and I did NOT choose poorly! WOW!!!They have live music as well...looks like that's just about every weekend!

Honestly, I was surprised when me and a couple buddies went to try out Icehouse. I'm new to Oakland and there isn't much around besides Mexican so this was a nice change in pace. They have a pretty good assortment of different types of beers you can try and fresh! The menu is simple so if you aren't great at making decisions, this should be great for you. I got the burger, which was pretty good but I was pretty jealous of the flat breads my buddies got, they looked incredible. The pretzel was a great way to get that additional carb intake as well. The service was personable as our server gave all his recommendations on the food and the weekly schedule of activities that Icehouse hosts. I'll be back for the trivia and bee ASAP!

Had a good burger. Tried 2 different beers, both very good. Negative was beers were 8 ozs, $10 and $8 which I felt was overpriced. Service was excellent, but price will keep me from going back.

Simple menu with various assortments of wines & beers. Nice little spot in Oakland !! We had the burger and flatbread . Both were great! Nice atmosphere and quick and friendly service !

The Icehouse opened Sept 2022. I'm here from out of state visiting my friend. I found them on Yelp. And my friend is so glad I did!Tasty burgers, pretzel and cold beer! They also have a trivia night and bingo night.GO!

Great food. Service is quick. A very laidback and friendly atmosphere. The people that come to this location are always a great crowd too! Easy place to make new friends.

Great place to hang out and grab a drink. The staff is super nice and friendly. They made me feel welcome right off the bat.
