Nice! Kinda classy but casual at the same time. Hostess and waitresses / waiters are really good and inviting. Food is AH-Mazing!!!

I stopped by for a late brunch and wasn't disappointed. I had the breakfast casserole and it tasted wonderful. I do wish the biscuit was a little softer (my same peeve when it was Ponotoc, so expected) and that it was served with hollandaise, as it's a little dry. The next time I order it, I'll be sure to ask if they have any. Ketchup sufficed today. The space is more open now, so it's brighter and not as congested around the bar area. I plan to go back for dinner and to check out upstairs, I'll update my review when I do.

We had reservations for dinner at 545. I should have known this was an eatery in trouble when we arrived at 550 & the place was completely void of customers and were told to "sit anywhere". I should add that I could barely understand the directive over the blaring mumble rap. I doubt I need to go into great detail about our experience because this place simply will not last - beautiful atmosphere, but virtually everything else misses the mark, from the drinks to the food. I give one star each for the truffle fries and charcuterie platter.

A double date to Ibis' New Year's Eve dinner/DJ event gave us a peek into the redecorated, revamped former Cafe Pontotoc site. Ibis is elegant, colorful, and has textures and fabrics that make it a feast for the senses- not just the taste buds.We enjoy several bites from the menu, including the surprisingly delicious mini savory lobster roll appetizer with cold blistered grape tomatoes and oniony mayo, lamb meatballs with a garlic-mint finish, salmon with beets and mashed potatoes, beef short ribs (DIVINE), and the smoky chicken with "loaded sweet potato" which had a creamy hollandaise or bearnaise sauce, which was a novel treat. Desserts were okay, nothing to write home about. The carrot cake and red velvet were a nice size to split between two people, with a classic cream cheese frosting. Other options included a salted Oreo ball truffle. Upstairs had more seating which was removed to make a dance floor for DJ AD and her musical gifts. A tiny speakeasy- feeling bar and single restroom were also available upstairs. All restrooms including the two on the first floor are unisex. The murals and tiled floor were fun to look at while we waited! The service was top notch- friendly and accommodating servers, smiling bar staff, and a busy host gliding around the restaurant kept things moving smoothly.South Main has street parking, which is usually plentiful, and we found a spot one block down on Vance, despite the Grizzlies fans who had parked to walk to the FedEx Forum.

Well, we would have taken a picture of the Spicy Spanish Stew, but it was gone too quick. This place is so cool inside. The pics don't so it justice. Food is outstanding, service is great and the vibe is nice. Stop in, grab the stew and just relax in a great Memphis spot.

Wanted SO, SO much for this place to make it but like so many other new spots in Memphis, the wait staff is going to sink it.Zero sense of urgency from bar staff and wait staff and they weren't even busy.Had to wait 20 minutes outside ( after being told from bartender we needed to order from server if sitting outside )before deciding to walk back in to order from the bartender who originally told us to order from server. This is after watching several staff members walking around conversing with other staff members with zero regard for customers.Sad....memphis can't have good things :(

After watching a show at the Orpheum we strolled down SOB. The place had a modern eclectic look so we gave it a try. I'm glad we did because Ibis is great. We consulted with the waitress and she recommended a few appetizers and a margarita. The French fires came with a cheese sauce and pulled pork. The fries were fresh and the cheese sauce reminded me of cheese fries like they are served in Philly. Then the quail dumplings had an Asian slaw on a tostada. It was juicy and crispy. I regretted not ordering more. The crab cake was also good. The sauce lightened the dish. Not full we decide to try the sweet potato pie. The filling was light. The whipped cream with candied bacon was very complimentary. If you find yourself south of Beale, Ibis is a good time.
