My wife and I stopped in for lunch on our way to Charlotte, the GPS got us there because i would never have guessed the building was a restaurant. We were immediately greeted warmly. My wife choose a booth and our server was there with menus, solver, and a smile. Drinks were delivered and our order taken.Special was 2 fish, fries, white beans, hushpuppy and a drink. All for $8.50 flat.Food came out hot and was really tasty. We wete checked on numerous times to ensure we had what we needed.Nice hometown place with a lot of hungry folks before noon.

Dining out should be a pleasure. Houston's is a typical meat and three Tennessee restaurant. It's not fancy and the waitress calls you "Hon". My wife loves fried catfish but finding really good fish is harder and harder. A friend recommended Houston's so we gave it a try. They did not disappoint! The 3 filets were breaded and fried perfectly. The best we've had in years. The sides, typical for a catfish meal, slaw and white beans were good as well. The hush puppies were really good. I opted for a cheeseburger and tater tots. The burger came with a thick slice of sweet onion and tomato and was excellent! We expect to be back often to try the other menu items (or I will. I'm guessing my wife will stick with catfish). Give this place a try.

One of the weirdest and unfriendliest places we've ever eaten, and luckily for us, they're almost always closed when we think to give them another try. We've eaten here maybe three times, and each time we get the feeling we're being punked and secretly filmed.

It's been a while since we have eaten here because the food would be either cold or ill prepared. Decided to have breakfast this morning and thought we would give it one more try. I must say the breakfast was wonderful. Now, if they would get rid of the Vietnamese catfish, I'd go back for Friday night dinner. The reason I give it 4 out of 5 rating is because the place just looks and feels dirty, but it has always been that way so we knew what to expect. The parking lot and drive was like several bombs were dropped on it. I will return for breakfast again in the near future. Will work up to dinner.

One star is generous. We were looking for a simple breakfast. We found simply horrible. The waitress never cleaned our table that was covered in previous meal leftovers. After ordering an omelette breakfast and bacon and eggs, we waited for over an hour to get our food. It wasn't even that busy, less than half the seats filled. When our food came, my eggs were over easy and runny (not how I ordered them) and the bacon was brittle and burnt. The head waitress saw my plate pushed across from me and continued to ignore our table.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. The people working were nice, but the place is a dump. The bathrooms were so strange and disgusting. There was literally a hole in the ceiling above one stall dropping water into a bucket on the floor and the stall doors were shower curtains. The food was all the kind of stuff you'd make at home in a time crunch if you didn't plan for dinner, for example: kraft Mac & cheese, canned green beans, precooked and frozen mash potatoes and meat. Everyone at the table ate about two bites.

This place has got great breakfast! Super huge and fluffy pancakes, the french toast was also solid. All the meats were good quality too: sausage patties, ham and bacon. We were stuffed for hours! Great place to reward yourself after hiking at Montgomery Bell or Harpeth State Park.
