Stopped by tonight after attending my grandsons football game in Greenwood, could have had dinner at a number of places that are excellent in Greenwood, but chose to go to Inverness to Hometown Restaurant owned by Mary Gary. Wasn't hungry for a big meal just something ordinary. I chose the simple hamburger steak, baked potato and salad. Well it was more than a simple hamburger steak, potato and salad, it was absolutely delicious and more than I could eat, the staff took care of my every need making sure I was happy. I've said it other reviews, it's off the beaten path but it's well worth your time to get there and enjoy a good dinner with friendly people, "Where everyone knows your name" go and enjoy, tell Mark I sent you.

The food at Hometown Restaurant is AWESOME!! The laid back atmosphere is great for a family dining experience but it is also equipped to handle any dining affair you may desire. The walls of this restaurant tell a story, through pictures, of the history of this quaint Delta town as well as the history of the Agricultural Aviation industry in the Mississippi Delta! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.......You don't know what your missing!!!!

I called early in the week to see if they would be open Friday night after Thanksgiving, the friendly answer was "YES" I called a friend to see if she would like to go to the Delta, her answer was a happy "YES" because she knew where I wanted to go. We have been there several times and always felt welcome. The food was excellent, timing was perfect, the Staff was friendly and helpful. The surprise when we walked in was the restaurant was almost at full capacity and we thought there would be a long wait, not so, were seated in less than 3 minutes. That's probably the largest crowd I have ever seen there, date night, family reunion, young parents with small children, old friends you name it they were there and no one was complaining or waiting on service. My friend and I enjoyed about 2 hours of pure enjoyment and delicious food Friday night after Thanksgiving in the Delta. Thanks Mark and especially Thanks to your Staff.

The homestead has AWESOME food and service. I'm a fan of the juicy ribeye steak along with shrimp. Also it is hard to beat the grilled chicken topped with mushroom, cheese and bacon ...um...um...GOOD!!! I guaranty you'll love anything you try. ENJOY
