Hog Wild-Real Memphis Barbeque

Incredible barbecue. They were at Live at the Garden last night, and I had probably the best BBQ Nachos I've ever had in my life. I thought I was crazy, but the guy behind me said he was coming back for seconds. I understand why.

All of there food is crazy good. Barbeque is their backbone but they do so much more. Best catering company in Memphis!

My review is of their food at an off sight location. Hog Wild participates in a program providing their food at a local business for a week at a time. I had the beef brisket sandwich, baked beans, and cole slaw. The baked beans and Cole slaw were tasty, but perhaps a little bland. The amount of dressing on the Cole slaw was appropriate and the dressing was a typical mayo based cole slaw. The baked beans contained pieces of pork bbq to enhance the flavor. The beans seemed to be "homemade". I was disappointed in the beef brisket sandwich. I don't know if it is typical, but my brisket was very fatty. It had large patches of pure fat, and it tasted like the beef was soaked in beef tallow. I cut out as much of the fat as I could, and I lost at least 1/3 of my sandwich. Perhaps some people like eating gobs of fat, but I don't. I did think the dry rub was tasty and the small amount of sauce had a surprising amount of tasty flavor. Had the brisket been trimmed better, I think I would have really enjoyed the sandwich. What I salvaged from the meat was fairly good. Unfortunately due to my experience, I can't agree that the brisket is better than Texas brisket. I probably should have tried the smoked chicken sandwich for a better experience.

This group catered a funeral, celebration of life this past weekend and I'll tell you it was a gift to the family. HogWild took care of all the details during a time that families can't.The food was plentiful, well presented and absolutely delicious. The menu item descriptions were also well marked so there was no guessing involved. I'm embarrassed to say I may have gone back for seconds. Because the celebration of life was at a private home I did note how attentive the staff was and what a relief it was to the hostess. The staff kept empty plates & drinks picked up, the food was maintained fresh and full.Need Catering? I would, without question, call them first .
