Hen House Cafe

We spent the day in a neighboring town and decided to stop here for a late lunch. The restaurant was clean and cute!When we first arrived, there was one employee working. She was friendly and helpful as we decided on our food, and she brought everything out to us quickly.Our order included:- cheeseburger and fries. They patty the burgers there, not using premade frozen patties. The person ordering that enjoyed it (it looked great), and the fries were really good.- Philly cheesesteak. The meat was super tender.- Fried chicken sandwich: good flavor- fried okra and fried pickles -- both were good.We took dessert home: pie and cinnamon rolls. Yum!

I like small-town restaurants, I really do. I have really found some gems over the years. When food is made from scratch, it makes my heart sing. Unfortunately, this place uses frozen food that has been warmed up to eating temperature. The chicken tenders that I ordered were subpar. So were the corn nuggets. The only reason why this restaurant is receiving one star is that the servers was kind, and attentive as she could be as the sole employee waiting on diners.

Best chicken sandwich we've e:er had! The service is great and the people are friendly! This is my hubby's go to for lunch almost daily!

I had the fried bologna sandwich. it was excellent. nice atmosphere. liked it. would recommend
