Happy's Chili Parlor

I'm from New Orleans and im a foodie. Every where i travel i taste the food of small neighborhood establishments( where the best food usually is)and with Happys ​I can't complain one bit! The food was phenomenal! The prices were great on the wallet.The service was quick! Very friendly crowd and very welcoming. Ordered:​rib tips: tender, Smoky, seasoned well and bbq sauce was delicious. I had enough tips to eat twice! Greens: not salty like many places. Seasoning was a great balance.Happy burger: OMG! THIS WAS HUGE. it was a HOMEMADE patty juicy and full of flavor. It was so big the meat was hanging off the bun. What more do i need to say?!Fries: crinkled cut with some popping seasoning. I loved them!Chilli: literally the best Chilli I've eaten in a while. I love the texture no gigantic clumps of meat , great seasoned and delicious. I will be back!

This place has some really authentic barbecue/soul food! I got the brisket sandwich and it was an absolute monster of a sandwich. Tons of meat along with sauce. The sides are pretty great with a good amount of flavor. The fries were also seasoned really well with some sort of seasoning salt and that's always a nice surprise. The service was exceptional and our server really took the time to chat with me about visiting and what exactly I do for a living- it was a nice little chat!

I was told about this place by a local and I owe her big time! It's a small, no frills stand alone restaurant serving some of the best BBQ around. I ate there 2 days in a row! Beef brisket sandwich is $6. Super filling and I had it both times. I here the burgers are wonderful as well. The greens were cooked well. Very mild and clean. And my favorite... a HUGE piece of home made caramel cake! Everyone who works there were so nice to me and I felt very comfortable. This is not a fancy place. This is a true neighborhood gem that I feel so lucky to have discovered.

Best burger in town hands down. Very humble little place ap don't let it fool ya it's phenomenal I got the happy burger and it was huge and like I said excellent. The wife got a pork sandwich very smokey flavor. Family owned since 1928 veteran ran one man show. Anyway huge portions highly recommend

Was very good catfish sandwich and I had the best greens ever. The owner was super nice, and service was great, he ran the show!

OMG the hamburgers are huge and so tasty. Also added a side of RIBs that are fall off the bone good. This is a hidden gem.

Tried Happy's for the first time today upon inquiring of a stranger who was enjoying a heavenly smelling, delicious looking burger. I am THRILLED we did!!! Ordered the Happy Burger and sat in anticipation at the sight and aroma wafting by from the griddle. When finished, off the griddle comes these nearly dinner plate sized monsters, still sizzling and fully dressed with our choice of toppings and a side of fries with a house seasoning that is top-notch! Had a great little conversation throughout our visit (we ordered to go) with the owner, a charming, friendly, older gentlemen, running a one man show, making sure to run things in a way that his "Pop" would be proud of....I don't think there's anything to worry about. If there's a better place to get a burger anywhere around here, I haven't found it. What I DID find, is my new favorite burger place. Can't wait to try the other food!

Best BBQ we've ever eaten, and we have attended the bbq on the river for years. The service is slow because it is one man cooking, taking orders, and serving. But so worth the wait!! Ribs are incredible, pulled pork is tender and smokey, brisket is so moist and full of flavor. The homemade cakes are awesome too! Next time we want to try the burgers and chili... The owner is so generous and kind, that kind of service is almost impossible to find anymore! Definitely an experience I highly recommend.

The catfish is delicious!! It has the perfect seasoning crispy, not greasy. The Happy's burgers are so good definitely worth a try if you haven't had one before. Happy's cakes you can't go wrong. A wonderful place to eat or get take out.
