I used to love this place. The drinks and food would be a quick fix, but something happened. And whatever that something, made this my last time going there. The drinks were watered down and the food was meh . Is there a such thing as neutral?! It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The server was cool, but they definitely seemed short handed and it took him a while for some of the things we asked for, starting with water. I ended up going to the bar the ask the bartender what was wrong with the drinks. She did attempt to fix the drink issue, which was appreciated. Also, gratuity is automatically included, so just take notice if you dine here.

Honestly I'm not from here was visiting and my daughter got sick so we are at the children's hospital and got tired of eating the food here. I wanted Mexican aside from chipotle. I should have looked at the reviews first but had a gift card for Uber ears and wanted to use it. Big mistake. This place has the potential to be really good if their food tasted like they cared. I got the Mexican wrap burrito with steak. Nothing to ride home about I actually emptied the contents and tried doctoring it up still wasn't good. Also got a chili Reno it did come cold but it had some flavor so I ate that still nothing to ride home about. I ordered a large chips and salsa but didn't receive that per the driver not the restaurant. Bummed.Ordered my daughter the bean burrito and fries expecting it to just be a plane burrito because it doesn't say ANYTHING else. I got a wet burrito with spicy sauce ugh luckily I was able to scrap the beans from the inside to feed my sick kid. Fries weren't to bad but cold. I ordered the banana chimi gross took one bite of a soggy old banana with a soggy bottom super sad! The cheese chimies weren't to bad. I'm so sad I spent 70 bucks for crap food!! Always check reviews or you'll end up like me. Hungry!!

Prices were decent. Service was a little slow. Portion sizes varied depending on what we ordered. My friends said their margaritas tasted like pure tequila. Building itself was kinda dirty.

Happy National Burrito Day! Thursday, April 5, 2018 @ Happy Mexican Downtown Memphis, Tennessee Get up and out today! Find and enjoy a burrito you like :) I decided to select Happy Mexican since I only had a very short walk and it's such a beautiful day downtown Memphis Tennessee The sun is shining and it is a bit breezy but if you stay in the sun you'll be fine :)So Happy Mexican opened at 11:00a I walked in at 11:10a and am seated at 11:11 how's that was speedy seating:) I selected a booth since I'm out with my little one and have a stroller in tow :)I've already placed my order it's now 11:30 and they are not crowded at all I was greeted by a very sweet lady and my order was taken by a very sweet waitress too!! By the way, so I asked and got my waitress name she's so sweet it's Jaliah ask to be seated in her section:)Great customer service this morning and it looks like they're preparing for a stampede if need be :) So I've order the Chicken Burrito wrap ---Hey! So will I'm finishing this review my Burrito has arrived at 11:43 that's awesome! Having a little one with it really helps to get food in a timely fashion

If you are looking for a cool place to hang out with friends Happy Mexican is infidelity the place! It is located in the heart of Downtown. So, if you are in the area on the weekend or after work for Happy Hour, this is a place you must try. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and you will get a bang for your buck. Keep in mind that if you come with a large crowd they require holding one member's credit/debit card. Some people are skeptical about this; however, it's worth it. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night they have one side that has a DJ. You can participate in karaoke or dance to a few tunes. They also have two other sections that are chill and laid back if you wish to come for a date night or with the family. All of the food items that I have tried are really good and the drinks?...OMG! That is the reason most people go! They are bomb! Go and have a good time!

I ordered from Happy Mexican on last night. It was awful I can't believe they let that food leave their restaurant. It was take out and my husband went to pick it up and I'm sure he didn't look at it because normally the food from them is fine but last night it was awful. I ordered two margaRita specials which is rice shrimp chicken type of dish. My shrimp, chicken, onions and green peppers were all burnt and by the time I removed all the burnt parts from my meal I had no meal left. I can't stomach burnt food because I will become ill so I won't eat it. I basically ate only rice. I ate this meal later in the night once I got hungry so I saw all this after they had closed. I could not believe what I saw when I opened it. It was awful do better Happy Mexican and when I warmed it up in the microwave it left an awful smell in my house cause of the burnt food. Husband had the same issue with his meal. We are not happy campers. It will be a while before we order from there again if ever and we normally order from them each week.

I was excited to try Happy Mexican. We went today (Sunday 8/24/33). They have been open for about 2 1/2 weeks so that is taken into consideration.Our server came and brought us a little glass container of salsa and a small bowl of chips. We ordered a cheese dip. It was a generous portion of cheese dip, which is the only positive thing I have to say about the entire experience. Do you think the server brought more chips when he brought the cheese dip? No, he did not. We ended up having to flag someone down so we could get another little bowl of chips while our cheese dip got cold.My partner ordered 4 enchiladas. They came with nothing. Just 4 enchiladas, no rice, no beans. The tortillas around the enchiladas were soaked with grease. I ordered steak fajitas. The fajitas came and the pieces of meat looked like worms, long and skinny. There were very few onions and peppers. It came with tortillas. And that's it. No tomatoes. No guacamole. No pico de gallo. No lettuce. No sour cream. I asked the waiter where the rest of my fajita makings were, specifically naming lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. He explained that since it was a dinner portion, those things were not included, then he left. I was in shock. He saw that I was NOT happy and went and got some pico de gallo and sour cream. He never came back. We did not have enough chips for our dip. The food, not even decent. Did anyone come around to check on us? Never. I could understand being new there may be some glitches. The restaurant was not very busy. There were definitely more than enough staff. So unfortunately, an epic fail for us. Our favorite food is mexican so we will go back to trusty Margarita's. They are always friendly and serve amazing food.
