This is a place you can come to if you are okay with crowded areas. Not going to lie, this is like a Mexican themed dive bar. It is nice but it feels accommodated for the local experience. It may be a little settled down during the weekday, but the weekends are "LIT," to say the least. With all that said, I've never had a bad food experience from here. I always get the Happy Meixcan burrito that I usually can't eat all at once. Today, I got the Sean King one, and it's on par as well. I personally feel like the food has flavor, but I also ask for tomatillo sauce, red sauce, etc. I like messy food, so it's hard for me to come across bland food. But I would definitely tell you if the food tasted like cardboard before I sauced it up, lol.At the very least, this is a great to go place if you aren't bothered by a long wait (30 + minutes) and crowd on the weekends. Again, it's less crazy during the weekdays.

The service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. We had a party of 10 and was seated within 5 minutes. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely will be back.

Came here for lunch got a carne asada burrito which was good. Carne asada had good flavor but it definitely wasn't a burrito (not the way I know them to be). All the ingredients were outside the burrito. Customer service was attentive. They do serve most of your sauces and chips in togo cups and give you plastic utensils. When I first got there it wasn't to loud or quiet perfect for me. They also had games on the TVs. Once I left as it got later it got alot louder and the crowd changed a bit.

My go to order at Happy Mexican is the Mexican Steak Tacos. They always come out steaming hot, my mouth is always watering. The service is pleasant and never disappoint me. I could eat tacos everyday if I could.

The food is ok here. I got a chicken burrito with enchilada sauce, rice and beans. The rice was really bland but it often is at Americanized Mexican places. The beans were the same as everywhere else. The burrito was just ok. The salsa was good but was served in styrofoam which was weird. They also gave us plastic silverware to eat with. I didn't expect that for dining in. I can't say if that's normal or not, but I hope not or else that's just more waste. I have been here a few times with family or friends but never my wife. I am not interested in returning so she will have to go with someone else haha.

This place does a ton of business! As an outsider, I can't speak to the draw, and if you are an insider you know why you are here and this review probably is not for you. The challenge with an Americanized Mexican restaurant like this is that you can literally walk across the road to the grocery store and buy a better, though similar, meal. When the bland salsa in styrofoam with a lid hit the table next to the plastic fork in its plastic bag, maybe I should have left. Or maybe when the thin, bland cheese dip hit the table, that may have been the moment. Certainly I regret sticking around long enough to try the fajitas that only tasted like grease, and quesadilla full of bland refried beans. On the positive side, it all happened quickly and the place certainly is energetic.

Private parking lot.Had a much better experience this time. Happy hour is on select days until 7pm. My party ordered a few pitchers of margaritas. Margaritas tasted great and comes in multiple flavors. You can also get the margaritas on the rocks or frozen. The establishment will not sit your party until half the party has arrived. This policy makes sense. The queso is good but pretty small. The Big Daddy Burrito is huge. I got the rice and beans on the side which made the burrito better. Chips are decent.Food is a good value for what you are getting.

We stopped in after a long day downtown at the bbq festival and it was packed. The staff sat us promptly and took our drink order. The place is decorated very nicely with colorful paintings, custom seating and different pieces hanging all Ofer the place. I had the Margarita special which is chicken, shrimp and steak with grilled onions, peppers and vegetables on a bed a rice topped with queso. This was an amazing dish. It was full of flavor and the meats were cooked to perfection. I would definitely stop in on my next trip to Memphis.

I walked here from the hotel that was nearby, the walk felt safe, and I chose to come here because the smell of tortillas was amazing! I came in an early afternoon on a Sunday and it did not appear as if anybody else was there besides people who worked there. I ordered shrimp fajitas, and when they came out, they were sizzling hot. However, they tasted extremely bland. I have an allergy issue with dairy, so I had to ask the server for, another thing of lettuce because the sides that come with it the lettuce had sour cream all over on top of it. If that is something you like, then maybe these fajitas are for you. Just make sure you ask for cheese as it does not come with it. The pico that came with it looked questionable, it could have been made and then frozen or it could have started to turn bad and I didn't want to chance it.

After a long day of physical labor my wife and I were starving. We spotted Happy Mexican and decided to try it. They were able to seat us right away but it took 10 minutes for a waiter to check on us. When he finally came back we placed our order. I had the steak & bacon tacos. They were tasty but so greasy the tortillas were not eatable. There was something wrong with the rice and beans, as well. I could not eat them.My wife's plate looked like a hot mess but she enjoyed it. She even enjoyed the beans. We didn't see our waiter again until he brought the check. I had to get drink refills from any wait staff that passed our table...and I usually don't do that but if I hadn't we'd still be waiting on a tea refill. We most likely will not be back. It seems like this place might be intended for drinking and partying instead of good food and service.
