Love this place for a quick beer out on the patio for some serious nature and the occasional epic people watching. Peep my pics for some funny shots of your random white boy synchrony in nature. I have had several meetings out here as well. They do serve some small plates and other items to snack on during normal times. They do have some inside seating as well, but I dig the patio. They always seem to have something special, most unique, and damn tasty on their taps. My wife loves finding the fruity and funky beers that will carry. Me.... Just give me a damn IPA and let's move right along. Once, she had a beer thick with orange pulp and it as the most unique brew I have ever tasted. She has been chasing it since to no avail. To me, it was shit, to her, it was the next pinnacle to which nothing else has compared since. We come during Cooper Young Festival every year and the service can be a bit snippy and rushed. It actually pisses me off sometimes. I do understand the need to get people through the place quickly, but you can do so without being as curt and laconic. We will return, without a doubt. I do love beer. My only suggestion would be a corral of puppies to pet while you get wasted. That would be pretty rad, maybe like a puppy rental system could work. '24 - 3/100

Quality craft beer spot that has awesome food, 20+ beers to choose from, even some spirits too for the hard liquor crowd (all memphis local stuff which is awesome). Place is chill to hang out in too. Tables and chairs outside, stools and tables inside. Owner is a cool dude and so are the workers. Real memphians know this is a great spot.

Always a good spot for a drink with friends. Service is always fast, and the people working here are super friendly. There is always a large selection of beers and delicious sandwiches to go with it. Great neighborhood place.

Friendly service! They get fabulous drafts so get ready to try different ones from local brew, another state and even brews from overseas! This week they have draft kolsch from Germany! And dont forget to try their pretzel bites! Favorite neighborhood spot, always pack like young Ave and celtic crossing.

A very welcoming and warm place! This was absolutely comforting during a winter weather night. You walk in, get your beer to the left and then take a seat. They seemed to have a good spread and food options. Also digging the holiday spirit with the decorations. I'll have to come back to try their Cuban sandwich.

Hammer & Ale is a consistent crowd pleaser. I've visited many times with groups and they're always able to manage the crowds. I most recently ordered and enjoyed the Turkey Brie Sweet Heat, which is a perfectly grilled panini with a great balance of sweet with the jalapeño jelly and cheesiness of the Brie. It's just so good! I've ordered the pimento cheese stuffed soft pretzels in the past and it was so good too. They of course have a wonderful craft beer selection and their food is anything but an afterthought. It's magnificent!

Great selection and excellent staff. Alway recommended on a pleasant sunny day. Plus, they have a charging station which I think is dope and more convenient than one would realize.

Ate there today- server was very rude, rushing us, condescending tone, along with a hint of prejudice. If you are a minority, please do not support this business.

Great little unassuming place in Cooper Young. Be prepared, ye capitalists. This is the new modern. Let the food and beer make the statement instead of meaningless décor. Crowd is mixed, but mostly 20-somethings. Helpful and friendly staff.

A low-key bar that specializes in craft beers in an up-and-coming neighborhood. Service is good and while the beers are somewhat limited, they do have quality items available.Weather permitting, I would recommend grabbing a table outside and watch the interesting flow of humanity walking by.
