Attended the Anime Rave this past weekend. Venue is a lot smaller than I expected. The event was great, the vibe was great, the patio was great, however the service at the bar was terrible. The guy taking our order passed over us for other customers for over 20 mins, once he took our order it was only bc another customer noticed & added our drinks to his order. The bartender then incorrectly made the drinks & walked off. He was also incredibly rude when speaking to us. The bathrooms are what you would expect from a club/bar, however, I did at least expect the stall doors to lock. We will probably return for other events, but this was a rough experience.

Tiny intimate venue. Saw a show there Memorial Day weekend and it was like an oven. The artists complained a couple times about the heat but nothing was ever done. Also $10 for a water and a can beer.

My very first time at Growlers to see a great show with Emery and Hawthorne Heights, and I ordered a Philly-delphia Freedom sandwich in the steak option. I must say that it tasted delicious, although to be fair I hadn't eaten all day. Still, the sandwich, along with the potato salad side, were both good, and I'd recommend them to anyone. The venue itself was okay, pretty standard for a small-scale bar with live music. I snagged a seat at the bar and stayed there through most of the sets. I ordered several drinks of varying quality, but overall they were well made. I don't think the bartenders were superior, as they ignored individual sections of the bar for extended periods. I named the place directly next to me the "Dead Zone," as it was the worst place to try and get a drink. As for my rating, I based it higher on account of the food's quality, but knocked off a star, due to the okay bar service and that at least myself and two strangers that I met that night all came down with the flu. No such thing as coincidence.

This is very much a college bar but it's actually quite nice and not divey at all (outside appearances are deceiving!!!) I came here as part of the Memphis Comedy Festival and really enjoyed the atmosphere. However parking was a pain - I lucked out with an empty spot but I swear it took me like 15 minutes at the end of the night to get my car out of the parking spot and onto the street! So the outside of the building has tons of really cool graffiti. Walking inside, it's a nice long space with booths on the left and a big open room on the left with a stage to one side and lots of tables. The bar area is in the back but I didn't get anything to drink or eat so this review is not much help in that area. But I can verify that the atmosphere is geared towards a hipster and recent grad crowd plus acoustics were nice as we could actually talk normally instead of having to shout. It's a decent place to spend an evening out!Yelp Review: 18/2017

I visited Growler's on Obscura's Goth Night. My husband and I brought some out of town friends to the venue. Though our guests weren't as much into the goth scene, they had an excellent time playing pool. Service was fast, friendly, and includes a full service bar. Lights and sound were on point. Kayleigh, at the bar, does a fantastic job. We met the owner, Tony, and he was super cordial. The patio, in back is covered and features plenty of seating. The older Yelp reviews on this bar may have been true at the time, but they have completely changed their menu/chef and our food was fantastic (See pics). Whatever growing pains or outstanding issues Growler's may have had initially, they seem to have resolved them and upped their game. Great venue and bar if you're looking for a fun night out!

One of the best places to see local and indie touring bands in Memphis right now period. Excellent drink selections and very good service. I have been a few times and always enjoy coming back.

I attended the Austin Meade show at this venue on 3/17/23. I mistakenly left my cell phone on the bar while paying my tab. I live in Louisville, KY, six hours away from Memphis.Mark was more than happy to, not only ship the phone, but at the fastest possible pace to ensure I was able to meet my deadline to travel for work the following Tuesday once he found I was a combat veteran.I never waited more than a few minutes for a drink, sound quality was outstanding, and the environment provides an "intimate" vibe with the performers.I spend a lot of money when I go out to a concert and I am of course partial to businesses who support veterans. If you have the opportunity to see a show here, absolutely go.

Might be an ok place to eat, but it's a horrible venue. They completely over pack the place. You can't move at all and you're sweating the whole time. Incoherent Bouncer also tried kicking me out because I "didn't have a wristband" even though they stopped giving them out. Horrible venue. Would not come back. Rude staff and poorly managed.

I have always enjoyed coming here. Just want to leave a review and say that the guy talking about Jim crow discrimination over covid safety is an absolute clown. Love this place

Love Rawk'n grub! Their food brought me to Growlers for the first time. And while I took the food to-go, it looks like a really cool venue! Give them a try!
