Good Day Cafe

The burger is unique and phenomenal. The vibe is cool as well! Happy to see a restraunt in Oxford with outdoor seating. Is a little pricey tho.

And on to our second lunch stop in Oxford. This hamburger stand is in the alleyway between two other buildings. If you're not looking for it you might miss it...We had a traditional burger and a chicken sandwich. Of the two, the chicken was better. But overall I think it's fair to say that neither of these would be on our go-to list for either chicken or burgers.But opinions vary. Check them out and maybe yours will.

I've been so excited to try this place because I heard so much about it. I'm honestly not sure what the hype is other than the service. Our server was an extremely nice, attentive and professional waiter. All of the staff was friendly as we passed through to our table.The food wasn't bad, but definitely didn't live up to the hype or the cost. There was nothing special or memorable about the for with the exception of cost. The menu is extremely limited. For those with food restrictions or mental hang ups on ingredients, I give props to the waiter approaching our table and asking about special diet restrictions or needs immediately. It wasn't something I needed, but for those out there with allergies or for those dissecting gluten and such, I can see how extremely grateful others would be about the waiter being mindful of this. The ambiance ... from the outside to inside, it feels like they bought an old gas station and flipped it into a restaurant. There's nothing wrong with the effort put into it as far as decorating it. The inside table area is very crowded. They definitely couldn't fit another table in the space! Comfort was definitely not the objective when designing the area. Max tables=max money I'm assuming.The patio area is designed with nice patio tables, adorable fans for each table to help battle the heat and possibly the exhaust from it being placed right next to an extremely busy road. They did the best they could for what looks like a renovated gas station. It was an experience. I have no desire to ever return, but at least my curiosity has been answered.Been there done that

We went for their first dinner service last night and it was fantastic! The service and wine list were great. They recommended sharing apps and entrees because the portions are large (hello 20 oz ribeye!) and all the food was amazing. Every bite of the red snapper was perfect! It's a cool spot that just feels so Oxford.

Make sure you arrive right when they open to get a table due to the high demand. Everything we ordered was amazing and the service was exceptional. Best fries in Oxford! Our only request is that they would be open for breakfast!

Clearly overrated... The best thing this restaurant has going for it is the hype. It's a very limited menu and really nothing special. The food is overpriced and there's not much ambience. The owner of the restaurant has several other restaurants in the square area and I think because he was either James Beard winner or a finalist people expect more... This restaurant is only average.

Excellent burger, rice bowl, salad, and sandwiches. Recently had the fish sandwich- highly recommended. The service was friendly and efficient. Others have commented on the prices, which is isn't unfair but they are not excessive and it's clear that the cafe prides itself on elevating the food with interesting flavors and consistent execution. This is one of Oxford's gems!

Food is amazing but always a long line. Waiters and Waitresses are so awesome!! Love the Turk but definitely very messy.

Showed up before the listed closing time and were turned away with no explanation other than 'we have seated our last table'. ? don't need any more business. Definitely lacking Southern hospitality. Headed to an old staple like Boure or Larry's where they are always happy to see us. Was so excited and man it smelled good - but terrible reception.

We were lucky enough to be at Good day Cafe for opening night bf the word gets out and we can't get reservations. The dinner menu is small but packs a punch of flavor! My husband and I each ordered a different entree so we could share both. I would eat both entrees again the roasted chicken and the snapper. Honestly both entree were some of the best we have had in Oxford!! We would love for Good Day Cafe to be open more nights of the week. They just may need a bigger space once the word gets out. You will not be disappointed
