Chowing down at lunch in Waynesboro

Husband and I stopped in here looking for a little lunch. The menu was not very vegetarian friendly but it smelled so good in this place that we stayed anyway. We both had pimento cheese (as was our only option). It was served on a huge fresh yummy roll with potato salad and dessert. Unfortunately the well meaning ladies topped our potato salad with some crumbled bacon... but it wasn't so bad that we couldn't scrape it off. We will know to ask for it without next time. While this place probably wouldn't merit four stars in a bigger city (say Nashville) it's one of the few non-greasy, fresh options in Waynesboro.

This looks to be a Mom and Pop meat and 3 in Waynesboro. It is very reasonably priced and has a good selection of sandwiches in addition to the plate lunches. Our service was slow, it took 15-20 minutes to get the food and they were not busy. We all ordered mashed potatoes as one of the vegetables and were told that they were out but they were making more if we could wait. Turns out they had enough to serve us but they were instant, not exceptable in a meat and 3. My turkey and dressing had maybe an ounce of turkey. The dressing, black eye peas and the roll were delicious but I think there are better options.
