We were lucky to stumble upon this place for lunch in Lexington. The country fried steak with brown gravy and onions was a well-balanced homemade treat. The coleslaw was perfectly balanced, and the fried okra was very lightly hand breaded for a light crisp outside yet soft and flavorful inside--it was the best fried okra I've ever had. The cheese stick appetizer was a generous portion of six large fried cheese sticks, and was very tasty. The buttermilk pie for dessert was excellent and the pecan pie dessert was good as well. We were served by Gladys herself. She was witty, a bit, sassy, and entertaining, making the whole lunch experience a lot of fun. This will be our go to spot every time passing through Lexington in the future.

I had the good fortune to find this restaurant while passing through Lexington. The food was so fantastic and Gladys is an absolute joy! I don't live near here but I might travel back through just to eat here again. I do believe it was the best coleslaw I've ever eaten.

A go-to spot in Lexington. Great meal and experience. Can have the hot lunch or order off the menu. The stuffed chicken is out of sight. Good variety with something for even the pickiest diners.

They serve breakfast and lunch. I was there lunch, if you want to order from menu, you seat yourself. If you want the buffet, you get a meat and 3 veggies. I am not sure if the cornbread comes with. They do have deserts, they are probably extra. The buffet looked good, BBQ if some sort, probably ribs, fried chicken strips and pieces. Cabbage, mashed potatoes, baked beans, yellow squash, green beans, and corn. The chicken strips were pretty good, but greasy. The potatoes had no taste and the cabbage was mild and okay. The green beans were okay. My husband said the yellow squash was good. They place was okay, and will keep your stomach from growling. FYI, if you are not used to MS style cooking, all the vegetables overcooked. Okay people working, they lady who dumped her pitcher of ice tea on me never said she was sorry. I apologized and was not at fault.

Ate there for my second time today. First time was breakfast, and this time was lunch. Lunch was from the cafeteria line, and the food was basic southern food that was well cooked and seasoned. Cornbread was excellent. The breakfast was very good with perfectly cooked eggs over easy, good biscuits, and excellent gravy..
