The guy working there was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I bought crickets there and he told me to put some watermelon in with them to keep them alive overnight.

This little shop is a gem. Brought my 9 yr old son in for some bait to take him fishing and the men running the store were so kind to him. They were patient and funny and even let him feed their pet bird. We will be coming here for all our fishing and feeder insect needs!

Gator Brown's is a convenient well store and inexpensive place to get all your bait and live tackle needs. If they don't have you probably don't need it. Prices are spot on especially in comparison to the big box store. And sometimes they even throw in a freebie!

Great selection that you don't get at the box stores. The guys there were super friendly and I could've shot the bull with them all day. Lucy is pretty fun too. I picked some great tubes that I haven't seen anywhere else.

They are by far the best bait and tackle in the mid south. They've turned me on to many fishing hot spots and I've always come away with limits. They service reels and have everything you'd need plus the lures and tackle that fit our area and catch fish. Gator and his band of brothers know and you'd be super happy that you stopped there before you hit the water.

The owner is one of those good old-fashioned anglers, gives unlimited tips and advice about fishing in our area. The #1 spot to buy live bait like worms and gizzard shad. These days, I don't even bother going to Wally World for their "live" bait. Who has the time to leave a loaded truck out in the parking lot, walk into the big store, FLAG someone down to unlock the cricket cabinet or worm fridge only to find out they're either out of stock, the crickets are dead or the worms are weeks, if not months old? Let's not forget to mention putting up with horrible customer service. Do you have 10-15 minutes to wait on hold while a Wally World sales associate verifies they have live bait available? Just today, I stood by and waited 10 minutes for a sales associate at Wally World to come to the sports counter/register, unlock the worm fridge only to be told to check out in automotive because he was busy. The red worms were dead and the wax worms were so old they completely dried out like hard rice. I say all this because I should have remembered to come to Gator Browns FIRST! Thank God they are in town. They not only stock a HUGE assortment of live bait, they also have a vast variety of everything needed for live bait fishing (bobbers, corks, lead shot, sinkers, hooks, etc.). Gators also stocks plenty of plastic lures and hard baits as well. I perused their clearance section and loaded up on some wonderful crank-baits, torpedo spinners, and rattletraps. Each bait was priced at $0.99! Also, you can park right outside their shop. No need to worry about some lowlife ruining your fishing trip stealing your fishing rods, reels, and tackle out in the big stores parking lot.Gator also sells a variety of used and new rods and reels. When I went in today, a worker was repairing/tuning up a nice rod and reel.Forget the hassle and all that mess. Shop at Gator Browns!
