Something was not right with my vision, even with a somewhat new prescription from another office. Dr. Friedman's experience reviewed my prescription, and age and identified some inconsistencies. He examined my eyes and determined that my current prescription was too strong/overcorrected. His extensive experience and attention to detail enabled me to not only see better but he explained things to me that apply as I age. For me, his extensive experience made the difference in my recent office experience. I look forward to picking up my vintage eyeglasses that required special attention that his assistant handled for me.

I went to this business on 11/16/19. I do not advise anyone to use their services. This place is fraudulent. I went in for a routine eye examination and I have insurance. The man tried charging me 441.00 dollars. My insurance coverage paid for 125.00 dollars for exam. He tried charging me 350.00 dollars for contact lenses and 200. 00 dollars for fitting. Please do not go to this place of business for services. If I had researched and read the reviews, I would not have gone to this place. Research and read reviews on this business before using them.

Terrible experience and I would rate lower if I could. Very rude staff and when it was time to select frames, my family were pushed into frames where they would have to pay more than the allowance our insurance provides. When my wife told me how much she paid ( around $100 over budget), I called to complain. The office manager (who refused to give his name) tried to make me feel cheap because "its only around $24 above the allowance"). I told him I wanted to stay within the allowance. He kept trying to make me feel cheap about this. He offered a discount, which I refused. I told him to cancel and he tried to tell me it would cost money to cancel as he had already filed the claim with the insurance company. I kept pushing for a refund so we could go somewhere else and he hung up on me. Long to short, after a lot of pushing I finally got the refund issued.If you need to see an optometrist, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Last Friday, I randomly saw this office and walked in to check it out. The two ladies at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming. They encouraged me to fill out my documents so that I my Saturday appointment could be seamless. On Saturday, there was a college student who worked there by the name of Eric and he did a great job assisting the doctor. All of the customers in the store on Saturday were very satisfied with the service, including me!

The doctor was pushy and hovered over me the entire time I was looking at glasses making "small" recommendations and suggestions that ended up costing 300+ what was approved for by my insurance. I also didn't receive a copy of my prescription and when I called in later to see if I could get it I was fed some BS about policyAlso, it took 2-3 months to receive my glasses.I honestly wish that I would've read the reviews before coming because most of them are on point with my experience. I heard of crooked car salesman before but for some reason I wouldn't expect the same tactics for someone who calls themselves a doctor.If I were you, I would definitely consider other options when looking to purchase eyeglasses or getting an eye exam. This location was just the closet to my job at the time

I've been seeing Dr Friedman for 38 years and recommend him highly and refer him all the time. He has consistently fixed or cured any of my eye needs, injuries or illnesses with promptness, caring and humor. He is nationally recognized for his contributions in his medical field. He is contracted to Bausch and Lomb for 20+ presentations a year and has represented the medical profession in Congressional hearings on behalf of the consumer's best interests no less. He consistently provides available mfg discount coupons for RXs and eyewear. I currently live in Nashville and have lived in Charlotte, NC, and while I had/have an eye Dr in both cities for emergencies, I will travel to Memphis for Dr Mel Friedman for my annuals and medical follow ups.

This is the WORST optometrist office I've ever met. Saturday March 9, 2019 I had an appointment with this supposedly optometrist(I use the term loosely), this was the first time I'd ever been here, I was referred to him by a coworker. As I sat there filling out my paperwork there was another woman sitting across from me on her phone complaining about a screw, I had no idea as to what she was talking about. A little short white man comes from the back and started yelling at her saying " I didn't lie to you, we don't lie here" etc... I looked up and started paying attention to the argument between the two. It didn't take long to figure out that she was upset because her glasses had been there a while and weren't repaired and returned in a timely manner. I started getting upset because the optometrist was literally yelling at his patient with little regards to one, this was a patient, secondly, she had a little girl looked as if she was no older than maybe 9, and thirdly I was potentially a new patient (and the impression he left with me was he was rude and obnoxious). I stood up, gave the receptionist the documents back, and told her I was not interested in being seen by someone that was that belligerent to his patients. I walked out, then I realized that I had began filling out the documents before this situation occurred, so I immediately went back inside and politely asked the receptionist for the document that I had began filling out because it had some od my private information such as my SSN on it. When I went back in the optometrist appeared from like nowhere and rudely said" Your appointment has been cancelled" I said "thanks that's fine". He then began trying to explain himself. I said " you were wrong because she is your patient, you should have either asked to speak with her in the back privately(definitely not in front new patients), or you could have just apologized for the miscommunication gave her, her glasses, and moved on with your day." He then began yelling at me and I explained to him I'm not the women he had just dealt with. He became even more angry and threatened to call the police on me. The receptionist was stunned and speechless she stood there. I asked her for the document again, and told her I would shred it myself, he began to move closer to me as if was going to snatch the document from my hand. I told him to back up and don't even think about it. The receptionist handed me the documents. I ripped it and walked out of the facility. This was the most disrespectful experience I've ever had. I'm almost 50 years old, I have never been in ANY legal trouble (other than speeding tickets) and I've NEVER had anyone to threaten to call the police on me because I didn't agree with them for being rude, belligerent, and irate with someone. I would not recommend you taking you stuffed animal to this guy. I also reported him to the BBB.
