I arrived about 20 minutes before my reservation and was promptly seated. The hostess greeted me warmly, and my waitress, a true Southern gem, was friendly and offered recommendations throughout the evening. This was my first time at the restaurant, and I was intrigued by how often I was asked if I was celebrating something. When I inquired about it, my waitress explained that many guests come here to mark special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. Looking around, I could see that every table seemed to be celebrating something, which added to the restaurant's festive atmosphere. In Washington, DC, grabbing a steak on a Thursday night is pretty casual, so I was surprised to learn that. For my appetizer, I chose the calamari, which was just okay--I'd rate it a 6/10. For my main course, I went with the 8oz petite filet mignon, cooked to perfection. The steak was definitely the highlight of the meal--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. As for my sides, I tried the Jalapeno & Three Cheese "Mac," but I found it a bit underwhelming--swimming in oil and not as flavorful as I had hoped since it was highly recommended by multiple staff (5/10). The spinach casserole, was a just ok. The restaurant's atmosphere was warm and inviting, with attentive and thoughtful service from the staff, who truly made the experience memorable. While some of the sides didn't quite live up to expectations, the steak and the genuine hospitality made this visit worth it. I'd happily return if I'm ever in Memphis again, thanks to the fantastic steak and service.

Petite filet was excellent! Sides were ok. Drinks were weak - expensive. Our waitress was efficient but not very friendly or helpful with making choices as this was our first time eating at the restaurant. The best service was from the water boy that was attentive in refilling our glasses. $250 for 2 people. We prefer other steak houses in the area.Liked the decor and my hubby was given a cupcake for his birthday.

One of the best filet mignon's in Memphis and their calamari was great and the twice baked potato was delicious! The service is always above and beyond.

The ambiance of the place is sure nice. Service was decent. But....as I review the dishes, there's a common theme (as you'll soon see):- stuffed mushrooms: Never had them stuffed with sausage and marinara sauce. They seemed like they'd be good. However, the sausage and marinara was overpowering to the mushrooms etc. - Wedge salad: This was good, but not fantastic by any means. Blue cheese dressing was quite mild. More cheese crumbles would have kicked it up. Or, more bacon and onion would have helped. - French onion soup: Well under seasoned broth and lacking depth of flavor. - Bone in ribeye: A good cut/grade of steak. Cooked nice with nice char. But fairly under seasoned to be a great steak. - Grilled shrimp: A good quality shrimp. But, well under seasoned and no real flavor thought given to these. - Garlic scalloped potato side: The best item of the night....but gee, does this dish have the garlic. It's good alright....but with the salt level too....it'll all get your attention - Green beans: plenty of bacon and a good quality green bean used. But again, mere seasoned. I'm glad I tried the place and again, the place is a good feel and look inside. But at this price level and caliber of restaurant....Ive had plenty of other better places.

Wasn't sure what to expect but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. Parking is a bit tight so be mindful. Upon entering you're met with a cozy vintage feel. Definitely gives steakhouse vibes. We had reservations so no waiting and it was for my birthday and they had balloons on my chair. Okay, very nice touch! The service was top tier. I mean not one glass went empty nor did a used plate or utensil stay on the table long and they worked so quickly and efficiently they didn't even interrupt our conversation at the table. Very nice. Steaks cooked as ordered and with plenty of flavor. The Mac and cheese isn't spicy at all. Tons of flavor and our other side was incorrect but after we tasted it we decided to keep them. It was like a garlic potato casserole. Very good. Then of course they sent in my very own birthday cupcake. The ONLY downside was the fact that the custard for the creme brûlée wasn't set properly. The flavor was there so my feelings were hurt a tad. I consider myself a creme brûlée connoisseur. I will still give them 5 stars because everything was done with excellence and I definitely appreciate the effort. Great dining experience.

Another wonderful meal with best friends. Fried dill pickles a great start, salad was solid and refreshing. She crab soup incredible. When enjoying my petite filet, I was reminded why I love this place. "Cut with a fork tenderness", REALLY! Disappointed with the roasted artichoke and charred tomato's over asparagus; not great and do not recommend it. The first time ever at FF, I say not again. The wait staff knowledgeable and team taking care of us efficient. A wonderful environment where the overall experience is first class. Well done!

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday at Folks Folly, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. Our group of around 10 ladies gathered at this charming establishment, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with an inviting and old-school steakhouse ambiance. Our server for the evening, Ashley, deserves special recognition for her exceptional service. Ashley was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. Her warm and professional demeanor added an extra touch of hospitality to our celebration. The menu at Folks Folly offers a wonderful selection of dishes, reminiscent of a typical old-school steakhouse. We decided to start our meal with some appetizers / starters to whet our appetites. I chose the she-crab soup, and I must say, it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with the perfect amount of creaminess. It was undoubtedly one of the best she-crab soups I have ever had the pleasure of tasting in Memphis. As for my main course, I opted for the lamb chops accompanied by a side of spinach. The lamb chops were seasoned to perfection, and the cooking was exactly how I prefer them. Each bite was tender and full of flavor, making it a true delight for my taste buds. I was thoroughly satisfied with my choice, and it seems that everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. The overall atmosphere at Folks Folly was nothing short of amazing. The decor exuded a classic charm, transporting us to a bygone era. The dim lighting and cozy seating created a warm and intimate ambiance, perfect for celebrating special occasions. In conclusion, I highly recommend Folks Folly for any special occasion or simply for a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a variety of delectable options, and the she-crab soup and lamb chops were particularly outstanding. The exceptional service provided by our server, Ashley, further added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. Folks Folly is a delightful gem that should not be missed, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Nice locally owned and owned steakhouse with great service. I really enjoyed the ribeye with accompaniment of potatoes and broccoli. There's also a butcher where you can buy steaks to cook at home.

Embarrassing bar service especially for a high end restaurant. Service and quality horrible. Horrendous drink presentation. Resembles something one may get at a Best Western in Appalachia.
