I was on the phone with 1-800 Flowers when John called me from Flowers of Memphis to be a rude disrespectful horrible human.

I ordered a standing spray for a funeral from Flowers of Memphis. I discussed what I wanted with John. They were very responsive. Great communication. They texted a photo to me when they delivered it to the church. It was a wonderful arrangement. I had several people comment on how beautiful the flowers were after the service. Thanks again. Great job.

John and his staff were amazing with my order. We had a colleague pass away at work and John and his team created the most beautiful sympathy wreath for our door. Flowers were beautiful and how quickly he was able to have the wreath to us was exceptional. Thanks again Flowers of Memphis for making a tragedy a little more manageable.

I placed an order though 1-800 flowers. Delivery was scheduled for Wed. 1Feb. Obviously the weather was bad and so delivery was delayed. We had beautiful sunny skies on Friday. So I called 1800 flowers to check on updated delivery date. They called the shop and when they came back on the line she stated the shop said the weather was bad so they couldn't deliver until Saturday. That should have been my first clue ...this was fixin to be an absolutely horrible customer service experience. I live in the same town as the flower shop the weather wasn't bad on Friday. To say "we're so sorry for the delay. Due to bad weather we're ....running behind or we're waiting on supplies or staffing" would have been understandable but to say the weather was bad so they couldn't deliver was a fly out lie. Fast forward to Sunday morning ...still no delivery. I call 1800flowers. Their notes indictated shop was unable to deliver due to gated community. I had them Google the address, we're not in a gated community and a simple online search would show you that. So they called the shop. The guy they talked to said he trust his driver, he was going to call recipient and confirm address. Long story short he calls while I still have 1800flowers del on the line. At this point I'm pretty frustrated. I was patient through the legitimate weather delay (Wed. and Thurs.). I was even patient through their Friday lie/excuse. But it's now Sunday and still no flowers and they're claiming we live in a gated community refusing to confirm with a quick google maps or Apple Maps search. So right out the gate I let John from the flower shop know that I'm pretty ticked off right now as we've been expecting this delivery since Wednesday. He doesn't start with an apology or in any way attempt to diffuse the situation, instead he simply repeats what I say and then insists he doesn't need to search my address, his driver is a long time driver been with them for twenty years, she's a pastor or a pastors wife (irrelevant) and that she's solid. So what I'm lying? I dont know where I live? I tried to respond but he cut me off threatened to cancel my order unless I was quiet and let him talk. So I shut my mouth while big tough John put the little lady in her place (feel good John?). As he continued his tirade I commented "this is quite the customer service". Since I stepped out of line John threatened to cancel my order again and went on to tell me I'm not a customer, 1-800 flowers is his customer, I'm just some third party nothing but not his customer. And then he cancelled my order and hung up on me. I got back on the line with 1800flowers and told them what happened with John. She apologized profusely and said she was escalating the issue and that she too experienced John's wrath. I insisted she provide me the name of the shop, she said she wasn't authorized and she said as very sorry but she couldn't. So I proceeded to look up the number John called me from and easy enough thanks to Google (the little internet thing John refuses to use) I found the shop -it's Flowers of Memphis in Cordova.John was extremely rude. Thankfully these flowers were "just because" and not for a death in the family. Flower shops get their customers through the best and worst of times and in doing so they should practice compassion, kindness, respect etc. Maybe the pastor driver can teach manly man John a thing or two. Maybe business is soooo good they just don't care to treat customers well. The flower shop just lost a chunk of change and future business. The driver just lost a generous tip. And the business earned a complaint through the BBB, bad reviews, and publicity on social media and word of mouth advertising. Way to go John! I hope your belligerent rude upbringing makes your mama, your poor wife, and kids proud of you.
