Estes' Fish & Steak

Although the name has changed to Driskall's Steak & Fish, it's still a great local place to have either. Their steaks are good, as is their catfish. Good salad bar, as well! Service is excellent! And the ambiance is that of a typical "fish & steak house". Thumbs up!

Under new ownership and they are very friendly. The owner talked to us for several minutes making sure everything was perfect. They have a new Slaw recipe that I loved. Salad bar and all you can eat hush puppies are always good. I love the whole fish the filet is good but just can't compare.

The fish fillets were dry and the breading was rubbery. The hushpuppies were overcooked and not much flavor. If they had sage in them and not over cooked they would be more flavorful. The coleslaw was bland. If they just used mayo, salt and pepper it would be better, or even a little fennel mixed in. One really good dish I had were the fried sweet potatoes. I give them a 6.

Service was attentive, and very pleasant. Hush puppies were crispy and flavorful. Some advice, order half the fish you think you can eat, very large portions. I absolutely see this place as top notch. Enjoyed it emensly.
