A few times a year Hamilton Square closes the city streets for a huge street fair. The local community and businesses all come together to support trade and commerce with food trucks, local goods and premier services. The town center is transformed into a shopping paradise. From 5 pm to after dark, music fills the air while vendors and consumers join in to support all types of organized events and marketing. While checking out the event, we chose a Steak and Taco establishment within the main square. This was a very strong recommendation from our favorite vendor "Sister-Friends Attic". Hamilton and the surrounding area are highly competitive with authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Elder's Tacos and Steaks is definitely in the running for the top tier of this category. The design is somewhat similar to a steakhouse style but, with a rough basic interior. In my opinion it could use some more decorative elements and less of the repetitive logo display. The dining room could use some improvements, as the seating area seems a bit chaotic and maze-like with some unorganized wasted space. Fresh produce and ingredients are a must for a star earning and they got it! Although just above average, everything looks and tastes flavorful and balanced. Presentation was inline with most Franchises and could use some more uniqueness. As far as taste, this was fairly predictable but good. The medium rare Ribeye was well overcooked, a little dry and a thin cut but lightly seasoned and tasty. The loaded potato was definitely not loaded but cute and petite. I enjoyed the refried beans and Lisa went for the street tacos. She really liked them better than previous ones, noting the more authentic flavors. She absolutely loved the street corn. My Aunt and Uncle enjoyed the Enchiladas and the kids loved the loaded fries. Overall, the food and service were very good. I will definitely count this a a successful experience. SYOYBilly P.

What a great find! Just passing through Hamilton, AL, we picked this place to stop because of another review where everyone was smiling and looked happy to be here! 6 of us dropped in and we each had a different dish and everyone raved about theirs. The owners, Elder and Nancy are hands on, putting dishes together and talking to patrons. They take great pride in everything they have to offer.If you live here in Hamilton, or if you are passing through, it's definitely worth the stop.

The food smelled and tasted awful. I had the enchiladas verdes. I believe the chicken was spoiled. It was disgusting. The health department needs to check this place.The server should have taken it off the bill.

Yesterday evening, my wife and I picked up two of our dearest friends and we rode to Hamilton to eat. We went to "Elder's Tacos & Steak's. I had saw them on Facebook for some time and the pics of the food looked delicious. We got a table and our server was quick to come greet us and got our drink order. We then ordered our food and the owner, Elder, came out to talk with us a bit. It's Guatemalan food and it is a Christian business. The food was brought out in short order. Let me tell y'all something! The food is absolutely delicious! And it looks as good as it's shown in the pictures posted on their facebook page! The portions are plentiful and our drinks were kept filled. We we totally blown away. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had! Y'all need to give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Chips and salsa was horrible. The queso cheese dip was too watered down. We ordered the T-bone steak and the ribeye steak dinners and both were overpriced for what they tasted like even with the garlic butter sauce they gave us. We decided to eat at this restaurant because it was on our traveling route and was a very bad decision to stop and eat here.

My wife and I love this restaurant!! I always have a Ribeye steak and it is always cooked the way I ask, and has the best flavor.... Only place in Marion, Fayette County you can get a good steak... my wife loves the Mexican items on the menu too .... We eat here as often as we can... the only place we eat at in Hamilton...
