El Rinconcito Del Sabor

I would give it 5 stars, but I know most folks equate that with fine dining. Which this is not (thankfully). But if I was rating it just as small roadside Mexican cafe with authentic food....then it would be 5 stars! Some guys who were painting my house at Pickwick heard me talking about Mexican food. They mentioned this little place on the side of the road in Dennis, MS (head south down Hwy 25 from Iuka, MS and US 72, south of the town of Tishomingo and north of Belmont). We needed to go to the Ace Hardware inside the Piggly Wiggly in Belmont (also awesome) and saw El Rinconcito on our way back north on 25. We knew we had to try it. To go orders they take at the counter. Eat-in just take a seat and they'll bring over a photo menu. My brother and I split an Elote (Mexican street corn) which was fantastic! Then he ordered a Chorizo Torta and I order 2 Tamales with rice & beans. His Torta was huge....largest Torta I've ever seen. He said it was very tasty. My tamales were authentic homemade, large and loaded with meat plus very moist. I would highly recommend this to folks looking for that secret hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint where you have to get your authentic Mexican fix!!! (Oh, they also serve breakfast....so got to head back soon for that!)
