El Patron

Extremely busy on a Tuesday evening but staff was on top of everything. My wife & I prefer the chicken fajita FOR 2. I've never seen that done before but we always have leftovers to take home. And our group had a few pitchers of frozen margaritas. All priced very fair, outstanding quality, & professional responsive service!

El Patron is located in a small strip plaza,so parking was not an issue. Walking in, the place had a pleasant and bright ambiance. I was greeted enthusiastically by a gentlemen and brought to a table.My other server was pretty much indifferent. He never came to check on me and even bringing me my entree, just dropped it off and never asked me if I needed anything or anything.I went with the chile Verde. It was okay. Good, but nothing great. Maybe it was an off night being a Sunday evening and my server was just not feeling it tonight.This is my second time in Columbus, Mississippi for business and the second Mexican restaurant I ate at in the area. The other restaurant was a better choice, but I am still glad that I came here (despite the service being poor).I guess overall I will give it three stars.

The staff is super! You are treated like family! The chicken enchiladas are a must! We especially like the special guacamole and carnitas street tacos

I wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant today when I got up. This restaurant had the best reviews in the area I was staying at. So, I chose to come here. I was very glad I did too. Great customer service and friendly staff are here to serve you. My waitresses really took care of me while I was here. They give big portions of food to you and have great prices during lunch. I recommend visiting during lunch and ordering from their lunch menu. Check out the photo I took? That is what I ordered. It was lunch special number 1. It was called the El Patron Grill. Which included a taco, beef enchilada, chalupa and a one burrito. It was all delicious and filling too. Yes , highly recommend this Mexican restaurant which is located across the street from Econo Lodge.

Staff was awesome as always. They really take care of their customers. Chimichanga was delicious. I got the beef one. It was crispy and hot. Seasoned nicely. We got a marg too and it was awesome; a tad too sweet though.Best Mexican food in Columbus

I love Mexican food. But not from here. I depended on reviews and after I ate I was sure I was eating at a different restaurant. I'm really sorry to write this but I don't want other reviewers to be fooled like we were. The food here was just awful. We had take out which may have been part of the problem for them. I really can't say. The taco which is always my favorite wasn't even edible. lt was as though it had been pre soaked in water and was literally falling apart in my hands. That is what was still in one piece. oh my!! The rest of the meal didn't go much better. However, my kids did say they liked the beans. my enchilada was very thin with hardly any sauce which was very disappointing. Should I go on? my family of 5 all came away with the same opinion and those of us that had a taco had my same experience. So take it or leave it that is the opinion of 5 paying customers that were left with a very disappointing meal. I just hope this wasn't their usual Mexican meal and that they were just having an off day.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Chicken tacos, rice, and beans lunch. It was delicious. Large portion for lunch. Chips and salsa were great. Sweet tea was just right. This is my new place in Columbus...!!!!

Great stop for lunch or dinner. The Mexican guacamole is spicy and good. Their bean have good seasoning. I like every Mexican restaurant in Columbus, but the way El Patron is tucked away off the major highways makes it attractive.

Absolutely amazing staff where you are treated like family! The Margarita variety is outstanding! The freshly made guacamole is the best I've eaten! We love to sit at the bar and enjoy interaction with the bartender and wait staff. The food is amazing especially the street tacos and chicken enchiladas.
