Don's Steakhouse

Watch out for bone shards and gristle in the beef tips lunch special. Otherwise, decent, inexpensive food here.

We are traveling and stopped in for a quick lunch. Mom ordered a BLT and I a hamburger. We both thought our sandwiches were delicious! I followed up with a slice of cheesecake and the perfect finale. Food was delivered promptly. Atmosphere is quaint and charming. Mom really liked the hanging lamps made from buckets. I devoured my food too quickly to capture a picture. I will definitely return anytime. I'm going through town.

I had the cheeseburger and fries. They were very good My wife had the chicken finger plate with it sweet potato and pinto beans. They were also very good

This was a highly recommended restaurant when we moved here but I wasn't impressed at all!This place hasn't seen an update or a bottle of windex since the 90's. For sure!The food was also super low quality. My burger, which I expected to be amazing since it's a steakhouse, was instead a frozen patty of zero taste. The salad bar seemed to be a big hit but I couldn't get anything once I saw how grimy it was. Overall, not impressed. Maybe I just went at a horrible time.

My husband and I were traveling through Pocahontas from Wisconsin to Texas for a Christmas with family. We yelped a good place to eat and Don's Steakhouse came up with stellar reviews. A former review named Cassidy the best server in the place, so I was puzzled when our server's name was Jess, and she was obviously the best in the place! Could it be they're all great? Possibly. Cassidy, it seems, had a baby and works part time now. The fabulous Jess has 8 years of experience, and who knows what other terrific servers you may encounter. The bottom line is the food is SO good, you'll want to eat there! We had a scrumptious filet and huge ribeye with luscious sweet potatoes, salad bar and Texas toast. Since I love hush puppies and they don't come with steak, we ordered an appetizer of them. You get a whole dozen of the best I've ever eaten! We will plan our next trip to Texas through Pocahontas so we can revisit this awesome place.

Great service, Excellent food....and one of the Best Steaks in our area! If you get a chance go to Dons and see what it's all about.

Past through town and stopped at Don's for a steak dinner. It did not disappoint. The portion size was excellent, and the price was great. It's definitely a must!

Visited this place on a girls trip to Pocahontas. The food and service were both great!

I received a recommendation to eat at Don's if I wanted a good steak. They were right! I ordered the ribeye. It was tender, seasoned correctly, and cooked as I ordered. The sides were good.Service was very good. They gave me quick service and were pleasant. The decor is what I expected for a small town. The tables were kept cleared and clean. If I am ever back in town, I'll be back!
