Donelson's Catering

Used Donelson's to cater 3 meals (2 lunches, 1 dinner) for my conference of 100 people in April 2019. They catered to Shelby Farms. The food was GREAT! Particularly the chicken salad sandwiches for lunch and the grilled catfish & yeast rolls for dinner. Kimberly was helpful with giving options for the wide variety of dietary restrictions I gave her. The folks who came to set up the food were really friendly and spent time chatting with me and explaining all the food. If I do another event in Memphis I'll definitely give Donelson's a call.

The food was awesome. My job got them to cater our event today and it was amazing. The food tasted like it came straight from granny's kitchen. We had hamburger steak that was seasoned so perfectly. The meat patties were so tender. The sides were mashed potatoes, green beans, butter rolls and baked macaroni and cheese.Oh my Lord the Mac and Cheese is worth writing home about (well technically worth righting a review about)It all was just perfect!!!

The absolute best in catering! Hands down! Their food is amazing. People are still ranting and raving about the food at my reception to this very day. Very highly recommended caterer!!!

Yes good service.Yes - well priced to fit most personal and corporate budgets.BUT... OHHHH YESS, the taste is excellent eating!!!This entity is one that I would recommend for catering of any type. The staff is professional, the leadership is down-to-earth (Firm but Friendly) but more than all of that - the product is wonderful.

I've had catering from Drapers, Simply Delicious, and Central. They've all been professional, beautiful setups with plenty of food for 50 people. Donelsons was nothing like that. There was no effort put into the presentation, and certainly not enough food for 50 people. They gave me one pastry per person (with fruit, juice, and coffee). Who eats just one pastry for breakfast? I had to supplement breakfast with leftovers from Drapers, who we ordered on the previous day - and who provided a much, much higher quantity of food for the same price. For $8.00 a head, I expect more than one pastry per person. The pastries provided were obviously just Svenhorn and Otis Spunkmyer pastries from Sams Club - I know because I shop there. I could have easily just unpackaged the same pastries and plopped them haphazardly on two trays for like $1 per person. When I expressed this concern to them, they kept exclaiming "But you had leftovers, so clearly it was enough!" - without acknowledging the fact that we supplemented the breakfast with leftovers (which more people ate, because they were higher quality and better tasting items). The lack of food was so shocking to me that I had to call in and request more items for lunch (they were also catering lunch). Which brings me to the lunch provided. I ordered the burger bar for 50 people (upped to 75 due to lack of food provided). I'm not sure if Donelsons has ever actually had one of their hamburgers before, because they are absolutely awful. I had several complaints on the quality of the food provided that day, which is embarrassing for me as someone who is running a conference for professionals. The owner of the business argued with me non-stop for 10 minutes, but eventually agreed to discount the price of the extra hamburgers - but it was a huge hassle, and I do not feel at all that I got what I paid for. Plus one of the Donelsons - Kimberly - attempted to reach out to me on my personal FaceBook page through messenger, which was just plain bizarre and IMO goes to demonstrate the lack of professionalism of the company. Steer clear of Donelsons. Otherwise you'll end up with cheap food and receive 2/3 of the amount of food that you should for your head count. There are so many other caterers in Memphis that deserve your service.

These guys are amazing. Great food. Great service. We had them cater for 700. They are awesome. Will definitely use them again.

Donelson's Catering catered our wedding reception in July 2023 and were incredible! Kimberly was extremely responsive and worked with us to accommodate some specific requests for our Hindu-American style wedding reception. The food itself was delicious! Several friends and family told us this was some of the best food they had ever had at a wedding reception. We had the basil pesto chicken, pasta primavera, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus at the reception. All of the food was amazing, and I know the mashed potatoes especially were a big hit. Donelson's also catered passed appetizers at our traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, including the best macaroni bites I have had in my life. We found Donelson's after meeting with several other caterers that had issues helping us with the passed appetizers and setting up additional dishes from Bombay House. Donelson's handled our requests with flexibility, support and true kindness, and helped make our special day even more special.

Donelson's was a lifesaver when we needed a caterer for a celebration of life service. They created a wonderful menu which was very tasty and everyone was raving about. The staff were so kind and helpful. Cannot recommend them enough!

Donelson's Catering has catered for us the last several years and we have never been disappointed in there quality service in making sure their delivery is on time. They catered a lunch for a few employees in our company today and the food was - " as always" - superb.
