Doe’s Eat Place - Jackson

Seriously the best steak in Jackson TN! It's a laid back vibe with great live music in the evenings. I think the service could be improved with more staff but that is probably out of their control.

My husband and I decided to stop in here to eat, after seeing an episode of "Somebody feed Phil " that one was in Mississippi. But we saw this one and wanted to check it out. We decided to have steak, of course, and it was as delicious as we thought it would be! We shared one steak and still took some home. Our servers name was Clark and he was very attentive and had a great personality, he even made us a specialty cocktail. Very yummy! It was like a cherry cordial! If you're looking for a delicious lunch, you've got to try this place out! The restaurant is inside of an old greyhound art deco station, and it's totally fabulous! It transports you back in time! ( if you can imagine that is! Lol)

I ordered the filet mignon, and it was the nastiest saltiest grossest steak I have ever had in my entire life. I couldn't even eat it. It was that bad. I would never ever go back to this restaurant as long as I live.

Wow! If you afford the steaks, it's the place to go. Regardless of the price the filet was cooked perfectly and had wonderful flavor. Highly recommend

So I finally got a chance to try a Doe's eat place. We went in at a weird time (2pm) and a stood around for a bit to be seated. The place was empty except for one person eating. I finally moved around to look around to the kitchen and got noticed. Our waitress (possibly the only one there) greeted us and helped us to our seats. She helped by providing recommendations and was very friendly. I ordered the ribeye plate but was super shocked to find out that my only options was a side of fries or steamed vegetables. I asked in surprise about no baked potatoes and was informed they could only be purchased after 5pm. The steak was ok. Not bad but not mind blowing. One of my coworkers got the Doe Burger and said it was ok and the fries were ok. Another coworker got 6 tamales and chili. She was super excited but after just one, she stopped eating them and said they were not good. This coworker has a genuine love of food and sadly didn't even take them home. She did eat all of her chili but got sick later in the evening. Not that there is any proof it was from the chili but she think it may be the culprit.So I admit, I was excited to try this place but I'm not 100% sure I can endorse it for lunch.

Food is fantastic atmosphere is amazing with a great bar connected to the dining room

Great service, great food! The tamales and the steak were absolutely delicious! Love the history of this place. There is love in the food!

Came tonight, to hear some blues and meet up with friends.The oysters from Louisiana had just arrived !We got them and the shrimp. DELISH!Why this place is not packed is a mystery to me.Food was great and I highly recommend.Tuesday nights can be memorable!The music was fantastic !

Food is awesome! Service was outstanding!Of course I'm a little biased. As originally from Greenville MS where first Does started! This location is right up there at the top with the original!
