Really casual place but felt like family Everyone knew everyone in there and it was locally owned. A real gem of a place and owners are most engaging.

I'm just not feeling the Dixie Cafe add-on to the Old Country Store. The food seems stale and overcooked. The owners seems to use it as a substitute for the main dining room/buffet, as the main dining room/buffet is closed for breakfast on weekdays. The Old Country Store used to have the best breakfast bar in town back in the day. The Dixie Cafe is no match for it. I especially don't like the disposable plates, styrofoam boxes, and plastic cutlery that you are forced to use even while eating in. Seems like a shortcut to me. They have recently put in a drive through window, which makes them on-par with every other fast food joint in Jackson. Do better!

The food is amazing, the catfish brought back so many memories for my wife cause her grandma used to make hers just like it. A must eat place and this is coming from foodies. The ONLY THING I didn't like is we asked to tip the cook and was told no with a slight eye roll.

Good homestyle, southern cooking. It's cafeteria style plate lunches. The service is strictly cafeteria so they don't bring anything to the table you wait on yourself. A very country style dining area. It's connected to the old country store. They also have an ice cream parlor in the store and lots of old fashion candy.

My husband and I were recommended this little café by a resident artist in Jackson. We were here for the day and wanted to have a local food choice that was different. The food here is absolutely delicious, so food. They also have a buffet in the same building so you can make a choice of what you would like to have. It's right next to Casey Jones Museum as well. I am glad we stopped by!

I want to like this place, but the service is pretty awful. They charged me extra for catfish and then didn't give it to me at all at the drive-thru. Still paid for it though. Also, they offered to put my gravy on the side, which I accepted; but then they forgot it entirely. This is after clarifying three times what I wanted, as the cashier was confused. The menu just isn't that big. The food is fine, if you receive it.

The chicken tenders were ice cold, green beans had no flavor or seasoning, mac n cheese covered in a thick layer of cheese, greasy with little macaroni. Fried catfish was fair. Fried apple pies were ice cold, the dough was tough and no flavoring on the apples. Total bill was right at $30. Food quality poor, too expensive for what you get.
