Dinstuhl's Candies

Dinstuhl's Candies have been around for over a century, in fact they opened in 1902, so obviously they are doing something right. The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful and their candy is definitely wonderful. The chocolate is incredible and the bristles are good. Since it is Memphis, Tennessee, they do have Elvis candy.The whole vibe and ambiance of Dinstuhl's Candies is pleasant. The staff only adds to that ambiance. I would definitely recommend a visit to Dinstuhl's Candies and I give it five stars overall.

Sweets for the sweet - And indeed what a surprise on Valentines DayHubby got me some very sweet, yummy and oh so delicious chocolate covered strawberries - cashier gave recommendations with swift service- low playing music nice ambiance for friendly chatting I was being so busy smelling the goodies and nibbling I believe that it was (6) six inside of the box Sweet tooth was feed with delight!

Dinstuhl's is known for it's excellence but the white chocolate carrot cake truffle tasted as if it were filled with orange plastic pieces that I could not even chew. I was very disappointed.

I absolutely adore Dinstuhl's! When I discovered them a few years ago, we just fell in love. Their chocolate covered grapes have become a yearly gift for my mother, and their cashew crunch is just to die for. We've found that their chocolate is the smoothest around and they have such fun designs. They also have open houses twice yearly that are incredibly fun for the family. I will always recommend Dinstuhl's as a delicious, local place. The only thing that may not be up to par is the custom chocolates/wrappers area. I hate saying anything negative, but I'm hoping to just give some feedback, since I know they're awesome people with awesome customer service! So about a year ago, I contacted the person who does custom wrappers about getting chocolates for favors for my wedding. We were emailing back and forth and she called me to see if I could come by the shop and look at the options, so we did. She told me that she could get a mock up done of the wrapper, and we chose what type we wanted. Unfortunately, months went by and we got no response. I emailed her, and she apologized and got the mock up to me. I chose one and told her that we were interested in getting that wrapper and the chocolates. Eventually she gets back to me and asks again which one we would like. I answer, but I still haven't heard back after about 2 months, and the wedding is in 10 days, so unfortunately we just had to forget about them since we've continuously heard nothing. We did, however, but about 9 boxes of fudge that were going to cut up and use for favors, so we still went local!

Speaking as a former Shelby County native, Dinstuhl's chocolates are some of the best I have ever experienced. Their production batches are significantly smaller than most commercial candies and the product both in the stores and online is fresher.Only three storefronts all with very high traffic, a nice website, and proper Southern hospitality still alive and well. The merchandise turns quickly and is always fresh. The price per pound varies with Dinstuhl's chocolates in accordance with the ingredients . When I order online out here in California I receive a superior product promptly shipped and well packaged at a lower cost than what I can find locally.Recently I wanted a special custom order for some of the high gourmet fruit flavored candies that they do not make themselves and as such were not on their web site. One brief email was promptly returned by their Operations Manager Marissa and I got everything I needed individually packaged according to my specific requirements and nicely gift wrapped for Thanksgiving presents. I just cannot say enough how much I appreciate that level of attention to detail, the customer service being as sweet as the candy itself.

How has a classic place like Dinstuhl's that has been in this location for this long only have 3 reviews? This is a Memphis institution! The ladies that work here that I've dealt with are awesome and so helpful and the candy is top notch and incredible. I recommend the Cashew Crunch, the Cream Filled Chocolate Drops, Fudge and pretty much anything chocolate. My last visit there, a friend bought several truffles and shared a couple and they were fantastic. I had never bought any but my next visit I will definitely have to buy several. Get by here and get your special someone a nice treat. It doesn't have to be a special occasion. Just let them know you were thinking about them and, if you're lucky maybe they'll share!

I really like their candy and strawberries. Great for Mothers day, birthdays, Easter, etc.

I opened the door and it smells sooooo good! Chocolate, jelly beans, and unicorn suckers.. I got a pecan covered caramel apple. I can't wait to bite into it.
