I've been here a good handful of times. It's a great casual dive bar, generally good music, and plenty of TV's usually with games on. I've heard a few bands play there and it's pretty good music. There's two pool tables in the back, outdoor seating/smoking area, and two dart board setups (though they can use some new darts since the plastic tips are breaking). My friends also enjoy their trivia nights. Staff are always friendly but can be very hard to wave down when it gets busy (after 7pm or during game days etc).For me, the five stars goes to the surprisingly great food. They offer free pizza on your birthday: one large pizza with one topping for every (I think) 4 people so if you're with a large group, pizzas for all! The crack dip is always a necessary appetizer. As for pizzas, I've enjoyed the Venetian and Aphrodite. My favorite is the latter. Overall a good experience each time.

Roomy, dark, divey dive. Bartenders are always nice. This place is so unique. I haven't had any food yet but the atmosphere is great. You must stop here for a beer if you're in the area.

Good relaxed atmosphere but pool sticks need to be up graded when I visited 2 months ago. Which they have upgraded. On 1/21/2023 they had a great band playing. Then when on 2/22/2023 and bad wasn't as good but, I really like this play it very laid back. I visit every time I am in town

So the food is unremarkable. Like, pretty darn unremarkable. I rarely ate here when visiting. BUT. The bar staff is pretty good, the drink specials aren't half bad, and it's just...MSU's place. Y'know, like the sort of gross younger brother that no one really "gets" except for your family. You get him, you love him, and you protect him from anybody who has anything ugly to say.It is a BAR bar. Dark, a bit like an underground tunnel, rather dingy, even smelly at times. There's darts, arcade games, and a patio. Trivia and bands abound. It gets loud and crowded fast. It's Dave's - what else is there to be said? Ask any student and you'll hear what you need to hear. If you really do need to eat something to soak up all the booze, try a greasy, cheesy pepperoni pizza. It's not NY style, really, but it's not bad if you're drinking. Their secret "crack dip" is also a solid choice. I'd tell you what I had for dessert once that was really good -- it was some kind of fried dough, beignet/churro/zeppole type thing -- but I don't remember a ton from that excursion.

Food is really good - greasy bar food with massive proportions, but entirely overpriced. There's no real reason to pay over $40 for a pizza. Drinks are also way too expensive for the quality. Some of the servers are friendly, others are not. If you're not there for food, you're probably there for live music, which usually delivers. Very loud though. Be mindful also, as this place attracts some interesting people who could stand to be cut off earlier in the night.
