Dairy King

Driving back from eminence Missouri, we drove past this true "hole in the wall" diner. Obviously a local diner with roots to the community, with church letting out, a popular spot for a good lunch. A wall dedicated to their awards for Arkansas Food Hall of Fame plaques and cute decor around you keeps you busy as you wait. We did have to wait for about 15 mins for a menu and once we ordered it took about 20 mins to get our order. With the amount of people there, not bad. They looked busy and the staff was attentive. The menu was fairly basic but what they do offer is fresh and cooked to order. I ordered the catfish with loaded potato and pickled tomato. My wife ordered the Philly steak.The catfish was flaky and batter was good. Pickled tomato (I've never had before) was very good. A little sweet and vinegar. My wife's Philly was good. Had a great ratio of meat to bread.

This was a great stop for us. We had catfish po boys, Reuben sandwich , double cheeseburger, hush puppies mushrooms and fries. Plus dipped ice cream cones. Food was great. Parking lot was full at 5 pm on friday night. The staff was friendly. We would stop here again if traveling. Oh, the menu on Yelp is very old and sorry i forgot to take a photo so the menu.

I always heard how great this place was and I have been driving by several days a week on my commute to work, so I called and placed an order to go. I had been told the burgers were fantastic so I ordered a burger and fries and a chicken strip dinner. I also ordered a chocolate dipped cone for the ride home. The staff was friendly enough when I picked up my order-no complaints there. I started in on my dipped cone when I got in my car and I was very impressed (at first). The ice cream was smooth and rich and the chocolate shell was perfectly crisp. When I got down to the actual cone everything went downhill. The cone was so stale it was actually chewy. I tossed it out the window.I got home and I was ready to dig into my burger and fries. Well, the fries were absolutely not done. Mushy outside and hard in the middle. I had to heat up some oil and recook them. The burger was not a fresh patty-it had scalloped edges which immediately let me know it was a frozen pre made patty. Not good. I ate maybe two bites. I bought the chicken strips for my dog (her birthday treat). They were very overcooked and not even my dog liked them. All in all, $24 for a sack of garbage. Never again.

Stopped by here while on a day trip- one of our group had heard from others that it was great! We each ordered a milkshake or malt at the outside window and then burgers and fries or house made chips. The milkshakes and malts were ready in a very short time and we started enjoying them while we waited for our order. After quite a wait I went up and asked and the food was ready and sitting there- we gathered it and ate on the road. It was still warm enough, but could have been given to us a little sooner( I was standing back, but visible from the window. I finished my caramel malt before our food was ready- it was yummy!!!!! I would definitely stop there again, but would order food first- then ice cream or just ice cream

For a small diner in a small town I though the food was pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly. I really enjoyed the frie6pie.

Hot, fresh, delicious, food that tasted homemade. The double burger and the catfish special was wonderful. The staff was polite and the place was clean! Hidden gem. Also definitely get the soft serve ice cream!

Great food; personalized service. Best ice cream ever!! Frequent stop on drive home from lake or river. Dairy King is the best!

We have been driving from Jonesboro for years to eat here. The steaks hamburgers and catfish or to dry for that would recommend this to any of my friends and family and for a good dining experience that's not too expensive this is the place to go....

Was very good. We had ribeye steaks and fries or baked potato. The salads were also pretty good. It was all good. Getting checked out was a bit of a hassle as the girl was overwhelmed with ice cream orders!

While staying at Lake Charles State Park, we visited Dairy King three times. Had Catfish dinner and burgers. Excellent. We had the same server each time (Bella). Bella was very nice and continually checked our status. Would recommend Dairy King if in the area! Only negative...needs to have a designated person to bus tables and clean up after guests have left. On each of our visits, patrons had to wait for tables to be cleaned.
