I took my time coming here since I moved to Memphis because some of the places that get all of the Good Press and Reviews are not worth the hype, in my opinion. Boy was I wrong about this place! I can't believe it took me this long to try this delicious food. First of all this place has been here since the 1970's and is a Memphis Staple. In 2020 Desiree Robinson the Co Founder and Pit Master was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame and was the First Black Female to be honored. The restaurant is not fancy, just good food with plenty of seating if you care to dine in. They had an Oxtail Special the day I stopped in along with the usual barbecue offerings and desserts. It was hard to decide what to try, I really wanted to order the Cornish Hen but settled on Rib Plate and a Rib Tip plate with Barbecue Spaghetti, slaw, baked beans and fries. It smelled so good driving back home I almost pulled over on the side of the road. Anyhow I made it home and plated my food and words can't describe how good it was. It's not too smoky or too sweet, no burnt taste, the season blend is not overpowering the meat. It's cooked to perfection even the tips were delicious and you can tell a lot of care went into everything I had. I even enjoyed the barbecue spaghetti! This is Top Notch Barbecue and deserves every award and honor bestowed upon them! I really want to go get some right now!! I almost forgot to mention the season blend was very unique,I'm not sure what's in it but it's special. I did order the ribs without sauce so I could taste the meat. Go get you some!

This restaurant has been in business for almost 50 yrs, and the brick and mortar reflect this fact. The restaurant was not difficult to find, per Google maps. The ribs tasted average, and did not give bragging rights to the restaurant. The sliced bread was fresh, and the potato salad did not taste like it was homemade. Also, the coleslaw was mushy. I've eaten better ribs in Memphis, but I may return again in the future to order a different meal.

If you like sauce and a sometime feel - Cozy Corner is the place to go! I came with a group of people at around 11:30am to snag a large table. You order at the front and they will call your name when it's ready. I got the 2 ribs and 2 wings plate with medium sauce. The sauce has just enough zing to it. It was enough for a great lunch meal. I definitely want to try the burnt ends next time.Caramel cake is super good too! Overall, service was quick and gave me a homey vibe. This wasn't my favorite bbq spot, but an experience to try!

TL;DR: better than RendezvousCame on a recommendation from the hotel staff and not disappointedOrdered: 2 ribs 2 wings (5/5): Cozy Corner lives up to the Memphis BBQ expectations. Can really taste the smoke and flavor in each bite. Tender ribs and juicy wings. Fries were good but the cole slaw was a little forgettableCome here. Skip Rendezvous. Cheers, Cozy Corner!

Don't pass this joint due to the facade. We would have, but went in because of other Yelpers reviews. Don't judge book by its cover. The ribs were fall off the bone with a zesty Memphis sauce. Very tasty meal. Give em a try.

If you're looking for real authentic, non-gimmicky, Memphis barbecue, this is the place. One thing I've learned is most of these flashy touristy barbecue places are all hype.I wish I could've ordered more and tried everything on the menu. But the items I was lucky enough to taste were excellent. The ribs and half chicken are covered in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. At least that's the one that I ordered. With no heat. There are different heat levels depending on your preference. The sides taste homemade and definitely not something store-bought or frozen. The desserts are also a must before ending your meal. The caramel cake was a five out of five, and the banana pudding is addicting. All of the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. In conclusion, skip those fancy, trendy bbq spots and come to the real deal.

I am from Los Angeles so my opinion may matter less to you, but damn these ribs were good. They were fall off the bone tender with a sweet kick from the sauce. If you prefer your ribs dry, this might not be the place for you. I got an extra wing just to try, which was good, but I would've rather had more ribs instead. For sides, I got the corn, BBQ spaghetti, and some fries I stole from a friend. The corn and fries were bomb. Definitely fries you keep ending up eating just one more of until you reach for another one, and they're already all gone. The BBQ spaghetti was alright in my opinion: a little sweet, a little salty, BBQ sauce forward. For any tourists out there reading this, every local I asked said they've never had it in their life before lol, but it's fun to try regional specialties. The place is set up like a fast food place where you order at the counter, seat yourself, and they call your name. The service was very friendly for my visit. The counter staff was helpful explaining things, and when they called my name and realized we had a lot of dishes to take back for a party of 5, they carried our food to our table for us and brought condiments and utensils and stuff for us. The parking lot and dining room are large, so you probably don't have to worry too much about not being able to snag a space even when it's busy.

When you hear Memphis, one food comes to mind - ribs. Of course I had to dine at one of the most talked spots in Memphis for ribs, Cozy Corner. I was at St Jude for work, and this spot happened to be right around the corner.Unlike many other restaurants, this one seemed like a very old joint from the outside architecture. But don't let that fool you - enter inside and you really get this old timey vibe. I knew I wanted ribs, but they have different rib size options, ranging from 2, 4, or 6 piece ribs. 4 ribs sounded like a sweet spot for me, and you get a choice of 2 sides (opted for bbq spaghetti and potato salad). Before even thinking about ribs, I was highly skeptical of the bbq spaghetti. But one bite completely changed my opinion! It's not bbq sauce doused on noodles, but instead a nice blend & ratio of bbq spices and sauce to pasta. I was pleasantly surprised! Now for the ribs - what can I say?! The bbq sauce was incredibly flavorful and the meat on the ribs just fell right off. Didn't require much chewing at all and I devoured that plate. I also got a dessert of banana pudding and it was a nice layer of whipped banana pudding with softened wafers - yum! The hype is worth it for this spot!

We ordered the BBQ Bologna sandwich plate with BBQ spaghetti and slaw then the 2 rib 2 wing plate with BBQ spaghetti and baked beans. It was phenomenal. Very friendly staff and quick service. The only reason I'm not doing 5 stars is because the tables had a sticky film and my shirt sleeve kept sticking. It doesn't look like much but I would go back anytime! Also- we had banana pudding and it was so good I would come just to order that alone!
