Oh, Jackson, TN... you need some better hotels. We picked this hotel because we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express our last trip through and that hotel was NASTY. Well, Country Inn & Suites was *slightly* less nasty, thus 2 stars but 2 might be considered generous. Maybe I'd say it's 1.5 but rounded up? I love how these hotels head fake you. At first glance you're like "Oh, this isn't too bad." But it's too late... you've already paid and you're tired and you're stuck. Upon entering, the lobby looked amazing. Nice fireplace, nice couch. Wood look tile pillars. Alright! But walking down the hall, I started noticing the shoddy painted doors. Uh ohhh. Then we passed the "fitness room" with literally a treadmill and an elliptical. Then there's the elevator. The gold doors screamed "This hotel is old AF and they tried to fix me up." (Oh and the elevator took foreverrrrrrrrr.) Our room was on the second floor. The second floor is where all the yellow-tinged light bulbs are found. Walking down the hall to our room I mentioned to my husband my concerns with this hotel already.Once to our room, he let me go in first to take my Yelp photos... only, the light switch didn't work. I literally couldn't find any source of light. I had to use my phone flashlight to locate a lamp. Again, the initial thought was "Oh, this isn't too bad." But the phrase "lipstick on a pig" is more like it. The update was shoddy, sloppy and the room was just plain DIRTY. I don't know where to begin... shower grout was all moldy. (Like, how do they "clean" the shower and leave mold and say it's good to go?) Tile backsplash in bathroom had unknown substances on it and hair. Under bathroom vanity was dirty. Dying bugs in room. Toilet paper holder pulled out from wall. Carpet was dirty. I literally did not go barefoot on it. There wasn't a bathmat so I had to use a washcloth, yes, a 10"x10" square. Then each bed only had 2 pillows. So we had to grab a back pillow from the car so our kid had something to lay their head on. Roof leaks so there were moldy ceiling tiles in hallway near our room. Popcorn ceiling in room was very dirty along edge... how does a ceiling get dirty like that?!?In the morning, we went down for the free breakfast. Coffee was out... the only thing my husband and I would have had. Yay us. There were hot options: scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. There were a few breads, bagels, English muffins, assorted cereals (Cocoa Puffs, lucky charms, Honey Nut Cheerios and regular Cheerios), waffle makers, some granola bars, and some juices. Unfortunately, we don't let our kids eat sugar anymore so many of the options were out of the question. We made a couple bagels, one of our kids tried the eggs and actually said they were actually ok... and she's our picky eater. We paid $130 for the room. It served it's purpose but was totally not worth the price. We won't be staying here again. I'm kind of tired of these shitty hotels in Jackson, TN.

We found a big bug in bed after we got up in the morning. This hotel has broken places and unclean places.

The room is disgusting. The toilet hasn't been cleaned in ages, the lampshade has mystery stains. There's mold in the bathtub and the bathroom floor is sticky. The drapery is broken. To top it off there are teenagers or college students in the lobby and all the hallways being loud and trying to trip people. One of them is illegally parked in a handicapped parking space. I'm actually disabled and had to walk farther and NOT trip on some person who has her legs stretched out across the hallway in front of MY room. Then they all went outside and started screaming at the top of their lungs. I paid $166 for this and even if it was free I'd still feel like leaving.

Property is beginning to see signs of neglect. Interior walls / doors need to be patched and painted. Bathtub calk showing signs of dirty/mold from lack of proper cleaning. Toilet seat needed to be replaced. Bed linens smell cleaned but had stains and wrinkled. Not as sharp and pressed as you see in most hotel chains. Looked like cleaning service did not strip and press sheets before making the bed.

I should have stayed at the motel 6. The room smelled like urine, there was only decaf coffee available in the room, The beds are old and uncomfortable, the bed sheets felt like sandpaper. The bathroom was clean but the bathtub drain was stopped up and there was water up to my shins when I showered. Will not be staying here again.

Long overdue for renovation - musty small, dingy carpet, clear tape over holes in sofa, broken window (apparent bullet hole) held together with clear tape, inadequate lighting. Free breakfast was adequate at best - certainly nothing to look forward to. First time I stayed in a Country Inn & Suites - definitely the last time I will stay in this one and I'm not likely to try others unless I'm desperate.

This was the worst hotel experience I've had in a long time! We checked in around 5:00 o'clock in the evening, got the keys and left to meet friends for dinner. We returned to the room at around 9:00. When we decided to go to bed and pulled the sheets back there was fresh makeup and long black hair all over the sheets and pillows. I called the front desk to let them know and the receptionist informed me there were no other rooms to move me into. She sent a young lady to the room with a couple of clean sheets. We then noticed that the bedspread was just as dirty. I told her that we would just sleep in the other bed (2 queens). Pulled the blankets back on the other bed and it was just as bad. I then walked downstairs to figure out a solution, there were no other rooms and no housekeeping staff on duty, so I decided to cancel and find another hotel. Most of the hotels in town were booked due to a college homecoming. I finally found a room for double the price that we had already paid. Choice Hotels contacted me and offered to give me 2,000 bonus points, I didn't accept. I recommend finding a hotel in the area other than this one!
