My brother dines here all the time but last week we came as a family to celebrate his graduation. The staff were very friendly. For a busy graduation weekend, they were very prepared. We had a reservation and the table was ready with place setting when we arrived. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating to our pregnant guest. The food was amazing. Perfect temperature and the lamb chops were seasoned very well. I should've asked if I could change the sides for the lamb because the corn in the Cajun chowder and the corn as a side with the lamb was too corn for me. The only critique I have is possibly moving the fire pit away from the entrance. Soon as we walked outside we were hit with a lot of smoke and it doesn't take long at all for smoke to cling to your clothes. But overall it was a very nice dining experience.

The new location is much better! Modern beautiful decor and ambiance. It was super busy after the baseball game and our service was very slow but that was understandable although I would highly recommend more staffing for big events. We started out with the grilled Caesar salad which I found delicious but wouldHave asked for the dressing to be light as it was a lot. We both had the 8 oz filet which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. For sides between us we got creamed spinach, potatoes, greens and French fries. My creamed spinach was creme with a few flakes of spinach. The greens were heavy with bacon and my mash potatoes were very seasoned as well. I realize, since MS is my hometown, that heavy cream, sauces, and seasonings are a delicacy in MS but I prefer to really taste my food. I would also recommend more bland sides like a simple baked or roasted potatoes and lightly seasoned veggies for those who don't want their food drenched. Busy as heck place during graduation weekend but that means people know where to make the best rsvps for big occasions also I guess. Even so being a busy night, solo dining at the counter had its perks, got seated in minutes of walking in as others in pairs or more got turned away. I went with a double-bone Berkshire pork chop that was delicious. I got it with a double order of veggies which I did feel was a meager portion for doubling up but still, the quality and flavor was there for sure. Took a while for the order to come out after placing it as did my wine orders as well. The kitchen was slammed for sure but they did darn well to keep up for the most part. I got to meet the owner Brady Hindeman as well as he was in the kitchen himself helping lend a hand to the flow of things. Gotta appreciate and owner who gets his hands dirty to keep business going steady on busy nights. Prices are fair for the quality and service here, portions decent, speed a bit slow but typical for a packed house weekend as well.

All weekend, this was the only restaurant with no seats. Great atmosphere, fun crowd, tasty bites and they put their hearts into their cocktails. The owner even got behind the bar to help his crew on the busy night. Great leader!

Visited on a Friday night, football weekend. Service was good, food was average. Salmon was very good and seasoned appropriately. Side were tasty, spinach florentine was overly saucy. Fried chicken Mac was good but over salted. Cocktails were the highlight, Old fashion was excellent.Ambience was below average. Super loud and could not carry on a normal conversation with those across the table. Server basically had to scream to communicate with diners. All in all, decent place. Better choices in town.

If you want a stress free meal, this is not your place. I had been looking forward to a nice birthday meal with my son. Instead, we drove around for THIRTY MINUTES looking for a parking space, with NO help from the restaurant other than to say, "that's just how it is". And we couldn't park far away because it was pouring rain. So my son got to enjoy a meal with his girlfriend and her parents, while we went to our good ole standby, The Grill. Good food. Easy parking. NO WAIT!! Stress free. And unless the food at Commodore Bob's is prepared by a 10 Star Michelin Chef, they can keep it!
