I gotta be straight, this isn't a 4.9 star place. Yet, I don't live here so maybe they are grading on a curve. I'll say I had a decent grilled chicken sandwich with tots and they were good. I had not look at the big board and didn't know it existed or didn't fully pay attention to the menu at the very top, so I missed out. And they had fried chicken and mashed potatoes which is a go to for me. Too bad I bet that was the ticket to satisfaction. The service was kind and attentive. The diner was what you'd think in a small town rural America. I can see that the people must like it so that says something.

So the new trend in many of the southern cookhouses we experienced on this trip was to mega size the amount of food and ramp the price along with it. Coby Jos is an amazing example that good southern cooking in moderate proportions is not overly heavy. The prices are incredibly reasonable. The amount of food was perfection. A meat with three sides, a roll or cornbread, a drink and dessert for around $10. If you want some good old southern cooking in a reasonable portion and variety capped off by a reasonable price come on down. Breakfast is served but the deal of the day is the plate lunch. It's different every weekday and worth the trip. To be sure to get the plate lunch be there before 11:30.

Let's begin with my wife and I can eat anywhere we want to eat. But we were in Dyersburg, TN to get our Drivers License changed. We looked this place up on Yelp and I convinced (begged) my wife to try it. We pulled up and oh Lord, it looks like a dive! After much more convincing (begging) I got her to come inside. OMIGOD the food was great!!! They had sold out of the chicken and dressing before 12 noon so I got a vegetable plate. Awesome!!! My wife got the hamburger steak substitute and it was good! I highly recommend this restaurant. Just don't tell Diners, Drive Ins and Dives about it, they will be overrun! Thanks for a great lunch!!!

Great restaurant. Catered a meal for teachers at the primary school and it was excellent!!

Wonderful food and service. Don't let the exterior dive appearance scare you away. We had breakfast. Wish we were in town longer to try a plate lunch - I know it would be good!

Very good food at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff. We have had lunch here twice and enjoyed everything both times. We hope to try their breakfast soon.

Great breakfast. I had the western omelette with b&g. The service was prompt/friendly. I felt welcomed even though the place seemed to be frequented by primarily locals. Highly recommend that you bypass the chain breakfast place and take a few extra minutes to drive over to this location.
