I wrote a really long review here already and it is down at the bottom in Yelp jail. I am not sure why, I never got an email or explanation. Perhaps it was something I said...Anywho. The food here is great. I love everything I have eaten here. No free chips and salsa, but they do have a rad, well stocked, salsa bar to nab your likes of the salsa. There must be twelve at least. The servers are always nice. The clientele is heavy Latino. Love that I am a minority on most visits. You know you've found a good Mexican food place then!Food comes out fast, hot, and the way you want it. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Inside is hard to explain but it really doesn't matter. The food makes up for the ambiance. Now they are all green and I am done with my second review of this place. '24 - 85/101. Getting this one back lowers the count biayches!

I was craving Birria today and decided to give this place a try! I'm glad I did. Upon arriving u was greeted and told to sit anywhere. The staff was really nice the only thing was that almost every table needed to be wiped down. Luckily the server had the towel and spray handy and took care of that promptly. I knew I wanted Birria so I was ready to order and she took care of me. The food came out in a timely manner and it was so fresh and good! Everything was so well seasoned!!! Even the consume was SEASONED! the only thing they could've did was put more cheese on the taco but they def didn't skimp out on the meat! The tacos were stuffed. I liked how they put the sauces out on display I highly suggest adding limes to the line because that one little lime y'all put on the plate don't do nothing lol. Other than that i def recommend if you want some good Birria.

Delicious, freshly made everything! Try every salsa they have at the salsa bar, grab a seasonal agua fresca (cucumber lemon or cantaloupe), and try not to eat your weight in their fresh chips. I dare you!Beware prime dinner hours, they can get swamped with to go orders. Doesn't matter, great spot! The motif is cute too, lots of fun Mexican motifs.

The BEST new taco spot in Memphis!! Fresh ingredients and made to order. Very sweet staff and the flavor is out of sight! The salsa bar is serve yourself and there's a bounty of freshly made in house sauces to try from mild to super spicy. The churros are an excellent dessert to end your meal. My favorite dish is the chorizo torts and the Tacos Campechanos!!The vibe in the restaurant is great and there's a lot of Mexican kitsch that makes it a fun experience.

This place has the best Mexican food I've had to date. It's nicely priced as well and I got my food super quickly. I got the birria tacos, and birria burrito. My kids got the kids quesadillas and everything tasted very good.

I don't have Tourette's, but this need to be said: TACOS CAMPECHANOS!!!Ok. That's out of the way. See below for rationale.Usually, one has to venture to Summer Ave. for authentic(-ish) tacos. And you still do, if you're looking for lengua or tripa or something exotic. But, damn, Chucki's does one helluva job with their offerings. The interior is eclectic. Seems Chuki has a penchant for thing automotive and with a typical Hispanic bent. It's welcoming though, and decently roomy for the 12-15 tables they have in there. The young lady behind the counter was busy for a Sunday afternoon, but welcoming and quick with a smile. The food: I had one nopales/cactus taco, for the hell of it. It was good, the cactus was soft and took on some of the taste of the grill. And then there was the Campechanos. Truth be told I went in for birra something, tacos, quesadilla, just something meat and tortilla and consume. Maybe some chicharrones. Glad I didn't. Food Writer guy I know turned me on to agohada, which I guess is when you take something porous (flour as opposed to corn) and drown it. In what you say? I don't know. At Chuki's, apparently, it's what ever is delicious. Slight spice, a little salty, flavor as deep as the Marianas Trench, it doesn't disintegrate the tortilla (this was the killer- the tortilla was integral to the flavor- usually tortillas are there as a fairly bland holder of stuff); it's the vanguard of deliciousness that awaits the rest of the bite. Which happens to be beef and chorizo...some fat (which, of course, is where the flavor is), melded together with cheese.I cannot understate the impact of the medley-ness. It just works. In most Mexican dishes, the ingredients are thrown together in the near ubiquitous tortilla and then plated. In this variation, the product is something novel, original, and the flavor does not disappoint. The salsas, at this point, where I had loaded up on six of them, liberally sipping them from the small cups offered (the arbol was very good as was the mixed chilis; the spicy guac was very good for a strained guac), became completely unnecessary. The Campechanos were that good- I didn't want to screw with the near perfection they plated up. All in all, it's not going to replace Guadalupana for me. Chucki's nicer, better, more savory, more convenient, and...better. It's slightly pricier, but the previous sentence kind of negates any concern I have over slightly pricier (a la carte tacos are $2.50 as of March 2024). But if the Ground Zero of Tacos on Summer has only nostalgia and lengua going for it, Chuki's may supplant it on my list.As an afterthought, and I can't tell you why I feel like this need to be said, Chuki's, in my somewhat educated experience, is VASTLY superior to Tacos Nganas. I invite your angry letters, as Yelp does not allow for comments...hehe. (So, your only avenue for rebuttals, fellow Yelpers, is to go to Chuki's, buy their food, eat it, and then drag your fingers across your phones in creating your own reviews...in which I believe you'll wind up agreeing).

A worthy contender within the area for great Mexican food. I enjoy the salsa bar which is uncommon around here, but a familiar sight out west. Beware, some of the options at the salsa bar are quite spicy--like the pickled cabbage! Even then, it's so so tasty. Their tacos and quesabirrias are delicious and don't disappoint. Don't sleep on some of their other plates though! Also, the aguas frescas like horchata or jamaica (hibiscus) lean on the authentic side. It's always pleasant inside with great service. I'll be back!

Clean, establishment with fast excellent service. It has a shared parking lot and can be easy to miss based on it's location, but oooooh when you find it. They have a menu that touches all the buttons and the portions are large! All considered, I'd say very affordable, inexpensive even. There is also a station for add-ons such as salsa, red onions and carrot, etc. which enjoy! I can;t wait to go back. Very rarely am I indecisive on food and my order, but here there were so many things I wanted to try. I only wish they had a full bar lol.
