You can't expect a ton from a Chinese buffet in Mayfield, right? It's a fine place to grab lunch if you're craving it. Seemed to be clean the 4-5 times I've eaten here - never had a problem with the service. I cannot speak to the hibachi part of it, never tried it. The buffet does have a lot of deep fried items, but most of the Chinese buffets are "Americanized"...

Greasy food, most of it deep fried. Add a star for the hibachi which is woefully under-used by the natives. Cheap food, cheap price. Buy extra toilet paper for the aftermath.

I've never been in a darker restaurant that wasn't a night club. The darkness of the atmosphere lends to a feeling of dinginess throughout. I'm not sure if it's actually dirty there, or if it just feels that way because of the lack of light. Service is okay, but it always seems as though the servers are sad...very few smiles to be found. The buffet is fine....the salad bar is blah and boring - nothing special to be found there at all. The selection of entrees on the buffet is typical and okay. Everything tastes as expected, but nothing is really outstanding, and in fact is often just okay. The crab rangoon is good - and part of the reason I've gone in the past. The General Tsos used to be a delight but the last few times I visited it was overdone and rubbery. The desserts from the buffet all taste like they come from a box that has been sitting on a shelf for over a year. Not appealing. After our last visit we decided we wouldn't be back. Side note: Take out fare is much fresher and does tend to taste a bit better than the items on the buffet.

Sadly this is the only Chinese restaurant in Mayfield and I would recommend you go to Paducah or Murray for a better selection. The food is OK and just OK. The crab legs are watery and over cooked the rest is your run of the mill Chinese buffet stuff nothing that fantastic and generally you fell as if everything was made yesterday or the day before but on occasion you get fresh. I rarely go here anymore as the prices have increased greatly while the quality hasn't. As others have said it's dark, the service is lackluster and you have to get their attention to get a refill, the tea is watered down and barely passes as tea. So unless you are in Mayfield and just HAVE to have Chinese and don't want to drive 20 or 30 miles ... I'd skip it.UPDATE: July 2017 I friend of mine that still braves this place recently posted the added addition of cockroaches in the friend rice. If you like that kind of stuff good for you, I don;t nor have I been back.

I eat here when I have to have Chinese but it's not spectacular. I give it three stars because I love the egg drop soup and often get it to go. When I'm sick it's all I will eat. But the buffet is sub par. The food is bland and over cooked. The chicken is tough, chewy. Take out is better than the buffet. They don't refresh food unless to refill so it can be dry.
