Catherine and Mary's has been on my Memphis restaurant bucket list for years, and I was so excited to finally give it a try.We started with an order of the fried mozzarella and the brussels sprouts. The fried mozzarella were fairly standard -- packed with a smoky mozzarella and a light breading. The side of slightly sweet marinara sauce paired well with the savory mozzarella and breading.The brussels sprouts were tremendous -- flavored and cooked to a slight crisp. I could have eaten an entire order myself.For my entree, I ordered the Lumache (cacio e pepe). The sauce was rich, creamy and savory, while the pasta was cooked perfectly. The portion was on the smaller size, but after two appetizers I couldn't have eaten much more.I also ordered an espresso martini, which was amazing -- one of the best I've had in Memphis.The service was excellent and I loved the decor and atmosphere inside. I look forward to returning to explore more of the menu.

Love Love LOVE this spot. Hands down my favorite place to go whenever I'm in Memphis. The food is great. The staff is amazing. The vibe of the place is unique and trendy. Below is a summary of my review the first time I found it. Not going to like, I went back 3 days in a row. HA!****I was craving pasta for dinner and was staying at the Canopy when i did a quick search for Italian and this place popped up. Glad i came. I love the aesthetic of the place, my server Annie was attentive and took her time to describe the dishes i asked about. The food was expedited quickly and it was very delicious. I'll be in town a few days for work and have already decided to come be back before i go. Maybe I'll save room for dessert. Ok so i came back a second night and so glad i did because i got to try the dessert. Man!! Kudos to the service staff ... Ily was sharp, attentive and super helpful ... and i didn't forget you Michael. Even though you were clearing out the nest table i really appreciated the fact that you took the time to assist me. I can tell you take pride in your work.Totally appreciated the service at C&M and my hats off to the chef everything i had was delicious. Perfect size and very tasty. I will definitely be telling every i know to stop by this spot if they're ever in Memphis.I wanted to take pictures of everything i ate, but i didn't want to look crazy. Besides i have to leave some room for mystery. So I'll just share these two instead. Buon Appetito

My husband and I did some research on what restaurants were the top rated in Memphis so we could choose a good one for our one night in town. We saw several blogs recommend Catherine & Mary's and read that they were a semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation, so we decided this was our choice for the night. The atomosphere and decor was an urban cozy feel. Our reservation was at 8:15 but we had no issue getting sat when we arrived 20 or so minutes early. We were even greeted with "Happy Anniversary!" since I made a note on our reservation that it's our Anniversary. We waited for probably 10 minutes before our server greeted us. But once she did, she was absolutely amazing. She deserves 5 stars and the rest of this review is no fault to her. For drinks, we ordered two local beers that we were both pleased with. For an appetizer we had the polenta (recommended by our server) and I really enjoyed the lemon flavor, it wasn't overwhelming but a nice acidic flavor. For our mains I ordered the cacio e Pepe which was sadly disappointing. I've been to Rome and had the most incredible cacio e Pepe so I know my standards are probably high for this dish but unfortunately this was not even comparable. If you want cacio e pepe that's comparable to Rome, go to Pastaria (St. Louis or Nashville). My husband had the Agnolotti and while the flavor of the filling was good, the portion was comical. He had 5 small pieces. I would expect this size if we were doing a tasting or at a Michelin restaurant. He finished his dinner so quickly and then immediately found another restaurant to get more food. All in all, don't go here if you are hungry. This is more of a small bites restaurant in my opinion. It's been a really long time since we've been this disappointed in a restaurant.

Catherine and Mary's is absolutely gorgeous inside--it's a whole vibe. It's the perfect spot for a happy hour drink or a date night. We sat at the bar and tried a few cocktails, all well-made and delicious. The Pear Focaccia was a standout, offering a mix of unique flavors that worked beautifully together. The bartender was sweet and welcoming, adding to the great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Definitely on the fancier side, they have a limited menu, and not a lot of vegetarian options. It's a cozy spot nestled a few blocks from Beale with great service and fresh food. You can tell a lot of time is spent on ensuring every bite is delicious and a blending of flavors.

This was my first time at C and M! We had fantastic service all night, with our main waitress Marsia. We picked more of the classic options on the menu. They do have a rotating menu that adds seasonal changes to dishes, such as the Brussel sprouts. I would highly recommend trying multiple snacks and little plates. Each dish has unique flavors and fun twists on Italian cuisine. The creamy richness of the pastas and the melt in your mouth short rib was to die for. I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant! They played great music and had the lights dimmed for a more romantic feel. Definitely will be going back!

Nice atmosphere/vibe. I love the building and the art. It was sorta moody, but not pretentious. Very loud, but not in an obnoxious way. Service was good. Gentleman serving us was very knowledgeable about the menu and make great recommendations. Nice Italian wine options. Good selection of dishes. We loved the fried mozzarella. (The red sauce with it was extra yum, and our server brought some pan seared bread out to dip in the left over sauce.)My agnolotti was delicious, but a rather small portion. Since I also got a salad, it was just enough. My colleagues dishes looked great too!Overall, solid choice for dinner.

Just about perfect! We had a reservation on a busy Saturday night so had drinks (excellent cocktail menu) at the standing room only bar. Once seated, we could not be happier. Our server was great - funny and knowledgeable. The food, wow, I wish I could go back today. The antipasto, fried mozzarella, and caesar salad were delicious. And then the rigatoni and tagliatelle....WOW. So simple and so wonderfully tasty. Definitely recommend when in Memphis!

We celebrated a birthday dinner for a party of 10 and had the BEST TIME! The service was 10/10. Food came out hot (and very fast). Our hostess even took group photos.

The ambiance is upscale, but hip. The food was incredible and our waiter, Chayton was a gem! Friendly and attentive. We'll be back!
