Catfish Country

Just mediocre, nothing worth writing about.We traveled 40 miles to see what all the hype was about, and we didn't experience what we've heard.

Down home family atmosphere. Family owned and operated with very friendly staff. The food is great and they have the best hush puppies. The prices are very reasonable as well. I do warn there is no cellular reception in the building.

Great food, friendly service, and ample portions. Went there for birthday dinner with Mom and it was with the drive from Memphis. Homemade desserts.

We were in town visiting and ate here at a friends suggestion. The blackened catfish was excellent, my wife really enjoyed the fried catfish. The hush puppies were wonderful. Service was quick. They care about the community as shown by a local soccer team being allowed to assist with serving as a fundraiser. The peanut butter pie was very good. We will be back.

First of all, our male waiter was wonderful, but I can't say the same for the food. We were served rotten fish, the fish smelled like it came from a sewer. I immediately knew something was wrong when I took the first bite and the smell and taste was causing me to want to throw up. I picked the filet up to inspect it and found a yellow spot on the under side of the fish that looked like some kind of sore that wouldn't brown like the rest of the fish, and stunk to high heaven. It didn't even have a ruined fishy smell, it literally smelled like it came from a sewer, and Lord the flies, I've never been in a restaurant with so many flies. We literally needed a fly swatter. There were also other people not with our party who got this same bad fish. Thank God I didn't get sick because I didn't swallow the fish. I immediately spit it out in a paper towel and went to the bathroom and washed my mouth out. However, my two cousins got sick after leaving the restaurant. I have never been one to smell my food before I bite into it, but now I understand the significance of smelling your food first before consuming it. I am 62 years old, and from this day forward, I will always smell my food before biting into it.The staff was great at making things right with those of us who had tainted fish, they did not charge us, and I appreciate them making it right, but I can't ever go back there again.

I come to Catfish Country a few times a month. The food is exquisite. The staff here is amazing. It's a small restaurant and gets packed easily, but the staff here are generally timely with getting your food to you.

My first time at Catfish Country but certainly won't be my last! Had a family dinner here and the catfish was outstanding! The hush puppies were cooked perfectly and the service was excellent even with a busy Sunday!

My wife and I have been going there for years and the food and service can't be beat. We like to see the kids getting involved serving the tables. Ifyou want a treat to southern food this is the place!

Best catfish in Desoto County. Best hush puppies in Desoto county. Friendly waitresses prompt service And now no smoking. Been going here for years and it has always been so good. Always left so full couldn't Order dessert. Love the fried catfish and twice baked potato with aside salad and lots of hush puppies.Clean and oh so good
