I was so nervous and hesitant about going here but when I say they treated me with so much respect and love. It was awesome the owner was so friendly and lovable. Now I have to admit the food selection isn't the best but it its ok.....

I wish I could designate this as an "art bar"...Is that a thing?Anyways, it was super chill and I liked the decour-- it's like a neighborhood bar and a little cleaner than your typical dive bar, but filled with cool people and your basic liquor selection. Also they have a patio! When we walked in someone was playing around with a Nerf gun, but luckily I survived to write about it.

Rob Coletta the manager is just amazing.. and handsome! Great eccentric place to meet all walks of life kind of people. Lots of service industry people go here and it's in the heart of Midtown so it's got a hipster vibe with great people! Never any drama.. its definitely always a great time.. not to mention the cutest doggy Stella who is just another patron to everyone who visits

We were in Memphis for one night and after dinner, we were looking for a local place to hang out and listen to music. We found this place, thanks to Yelp, and lucked out in landing two spots at the bar. We did have to pay a $5 cover per person but the jazz band was well worth the money. The bar is fairly simple but enough of a selection to get what you need. The art on the walls is very eclectic and extremely interesting with some beautiful pieces peppered throughout. There definitely is something for everyone in this place, which made me love it even more. This is a great local place with a cool vibe and a large outdoor patio as well.

When in Memphis you gotta make sure you go to Midtown & hit up Canvas!Keeping consistent with the Art scene in Midtown Memphis, Canvas supports & honors local artists by promoting their artwork not only throughout the bar but with a huge mural in the back. They also have some pretty dope concepts/themes during the week and seem to always have a pretty good crowd and vibe from all of the snapchats and social media I've seen prior to coming and checking them out. Definitely highly recommended if you're looking for a "Hot & New" bar in Memphis, or a different option with great scenery and ambiance.

I used to live in midtown and I wish this place had been here when I lived here. Kind of had the dive bar feel, but clay at the same time. A paradox if you must. Chill, beautiful, amicable, and affordable. If you want a place to enjoy outstanding food, best drink prices in midtown, amazing customer service, good mixed drinks, and a decent wine selection then this is your place. I can't say enough great things about this place. I highly recommend this place.

This is THE SPOT! Located in Midtown Memphis - which is the art district - this is a funky, eclectic bar that is a must-visit. It's a cozy spot covered with visual stimulations everywhere you turn, an outside pool table area, an amazing bartender (Chad), a resident pup (Stella), and a great owner (Rob). You could show up and a live jazz band is playing Black Sabbath or show up and walk into an Open Mic session. Great Bar, Great People!

Canvas of Memphis is an "interactive art bar" at 1737 Madison Ave, and had its grand Opening on April 1, 2016. The place is filled with art (which will change on a rotating basis), hosts live music and live art, and serves both drinks and food indoors and outdoors. It's a great place to hang out in a friendly, casual atmosphere in Midtown. Art and alcohol!
