Cafe Olé

We evacuated to Batesville from New Orleans before hurricane Ida hit. Both of us were looking forward to tasty comfort food in the form of a good and familiar Mexican dinner.We chose Cafe Olé and were not disappointed.Nice vibe, friendly and quick service, lots of choices on the menu and we happened to go there during the happy hour of Margarita Monday so fun was had by all.On top of it being exactly what we were looking for we were grateful and surprised when our wait person told us they had comped our meal.I would have given Cafe Olé a high ranking regardless, but that touch of human kindness and generosity during this trying time was very appreciated.

Stopped in to this place because of proximity to my hotel. When you're on the road, you should avoid those fast food joints and this seemed like a nice place to stop in.It seemed like a fair amount of people were in on a Saturday. I only wanted my food to go, so you can do so with the cashier who stands near the entrance. The first thing I noticed that was strange is that there seemed to be way more staff than they needed. Nobody really greeted me when I came in and there were a few people just hanging around and chatting. A different person asked me if I needed a table, if I needed a menu, if I had been attended to yet.. and there was a guy on his cell phone almost the entire time I was waiting. The cashier seemed to be working 5x as hard as anyone else. Taking orders on the phone, taking people's payment, making decisions on placement of Xmas decorations and signage.. but others just pacing back and forth, seemingly without tasks.The food hit the spot. It's not exactly the same as I am used to, but it is really 'roll-your-sleeves-up' sort of messy, like a garbage plate. Which is great. But the price was a little bit unbelievable. I don't know what prices are like in this town, but it well exceeds an equivalent in Chicago and matches even NYC or Seattle prices.Food was good, but I would expect more taco-truck prices for what I was getting.

Great place, excellent service and food. Loved the Tacos, great salsa. I will certainly stop again !

For home town and travelers this place has the best staff and food around(especially the steak)

Good food! Chicken was a bit undercooked though. Another time, the meat was grey. Iv'e been going here for years and this has happened recently. I don't know what's changed, but once the meat situation is fixed, I'll definitely be coming back.

Well normally we enjoy a night out of chips and salsa and margaritas but we were pretty grossed out tonight. We witnessed the bar tender dumping what was left of frozen margaritas that were returned, back into the dispenser. Not once but three times. We will not be back.

The food came out cold and nasty,our waitress had a attitude when we complained my friend found hair in her food hated it

The food is so good and great customer service. They make you feel very welcome! My favorite is the mixed Chicken fajitas. I love that they have vegetarian fajitas as well.

Amazing always nice and quick the food is always great 10/10 and the staff are always an nice host to have

I ate lunch here today (8/13/22) with 8 other folks from both my church and a local church. I have eaten at Mexican restaurants in many different cities and states, but the food at this one was some of the best I've had! The tortilla chips were warm and crispy, the salsa was thick and had just the right spice, and my fajita quesadilla with chicken was cooked to perfection...the vegetables were tender like I like them and the seasoning on the chicken was delicious. The service was good considering our fairly large group; they kept us refilled with fresh chips and salsa and drinks until our food arrived. I was very pleased and would definitely recommend Cafe Ole!
