Christine L. "Wow, a hidden GEM! Amazing and authentic Thai/Laos cuisine. Drunken noodles and pad Thai noodles were some of the best I've ever had! They were so so flavorful and juicy and I was so impressed. Every bite was amazing. On the drunken noodles, they put fresh cucumbers on top and I really enjoyed that. If you like crab rangoons, you have to get them here! They're in a thin wrapper fried but the filling is so smooth and tasty. Also one of the best crab rangoons I've ever had! They do have bacon in them and thats probably the special ingredient. I also go the shrimp Tom yum soup and they give big pieces of shrimp. The Tom Yum was delicious, hot and a little sour, lots of lemongrass."

Genuinely that good. I'm not much of a Pho guy, and I could eat this everyday. And this place ain't even a Pho place.I did order a Beef Pad Thai, and those may have been some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had.And on top of all this, super friendly customer service, and such a cool vibe on the inside.Absolutely coming back."

The server was very pleasant and attentive to anything that I might need. I had read a complaint that the yum yum sauce tasted like peanut butter. There's a reason. It is! The peanut butter yum yum sauce was unusual but very good! I really liked it. I recommend this place, especially if you're like me, traveling for work and dining alone."

The Lao Papaya salad was spot on, the Beef Panama was good, but have never had it with cabbage in it...it was a new twist, the wings were ok. There were a number of things that I tend to like to try that weren't on this menu, but they also had a number of dishes I've never seen before which was nice. Jamie H. "Really great sushi restaurant, tucked away at the end of a strip mall in Spring Hill. We were there during a very full dinner service but were warmly greeted, seated quickly & everything was served with a smile. Portions were a good size, food was extremely tasty, very affordable & was served less than 10 minutes from placing our order. My girls enjoyed the miso soup, cucumber & Philadelphia rolls, plus gyoza. The pad Thai dish (made with flat noodles) was met with great favor, plus you could pick your spice level (1-5 or none). Really really great - definitely our new favorite sushi place!"

Was a little disappointed that the fried wantons were kind of small, and they were a little hard. The pad thai was excellent, but I did order it without the fish sauce. My dining companions enjoyed their eggplant vegetable dish as well as the meat with a ginger sauce. The service was excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant."

The place is bright, clean and inviting. The menu has a lot of speciality sushi, some pretty creative rolls! I enjoyed my pho and also had a tom Kha as my appetizer. Yes I had soup and soup- I don't mind as I happen to love soup. My only wish was that there was more acidity and sourness to the Tom Kha, it was a bit too sweet and more coconut than I prefer. My boyfriend enjoyed his beef fried rice with medium spice. He thought the spice level was perfectly enjoyable (the step before it becomes hard to enjoy lol)As we were finishing up, the place got pretty busy and filled up to 75% capacity.Prices were cheap to average. I'd be interested in coming back to try some more sushi and Thai dishes on my next visit!"

Andrea W. "Ordered delivery through Yelp (who gets it from Grubhub) for 4 people, got:- fresh spring rolls: pretty tasty, good sauce, lots of vegetables, light- spicy noodles (otherwise known as pad kee mao / drunken noodle) with tofu: quite tasty, liked that it was spicy (I asked for it spicy) and quite flavorful. Noodles weren't chewy though and stuck together a bit.- pad thai: comes with chicken and shrimp, not much flavor. Noodles all stuck together, nothing impressive.- red curry with tofu and green curry with tofu: both watered down, flavor was just okay. Asked for the green curry to be spicy which it was so at least that was good. Good amount of vegetables and tofu.Good amount of food, came out to be around $67 post-tax pre-tip, but for whatever reason, there was about $14 of delivery and service fee on top of that charged, yikes."

Jeff R. "This was my first visit to Thai Paradise. Ordered larb, and mango curry with shrimp. I think I might have been expecting a bit more upscale decor, but being in a strip mall should have clued me in. It's just a few tables (ours wobbled) and those industrial kitchen chairs from the 80's, but hey, this visit was about the food, not the furnishings.I'd never had larb before and wanted to give it a go. Minced chicken and beef, some spices, served with lettuce leave so you can make a lettuce wrap. I preferred eating it with rice instead of the lettuce. (I deducted a star due to some of the lettuce leaves being wilted and brown on the edges.) It was supposed to be hot, but I didn't think it was. It could have used a sauce or something because it was rather dry. I guess that's part of the authenticity, having it the way the regular Thai folks do.The mango curry was excellent! It had a bit more kick than the larb, and I thought it could have used a little more heat, but the flavor profile was spot on. The shrimp were very large and cooked perfectly. The two ladies working up front were wonderful, very personable and professional. They answered questions and made a bit of small talk. All in all, I enjoyed meeting them, and I'm planning to head back soon. There is a lot more on the menu I'm ready to try."

It's the kind of place you know is good because of the lack of fanciness. They have a pretty wide range of Asian dishes, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese. Want Thai Curry or Tom Kha, gatcha covered. What Sushi? Covered. Vietnamese Pho? Yep. "Chinese" General Chicken? Why not? They may have "Japanese" in the name, but all of it done well, at least to my American tastes. I think their Tom Kha is the best in town, and the Hong Kong shrimp really hit the spot."

The dine-in experience featured a much more colorful dish. The pickup order was somewhat bland. For clarity, I split half the dish than what is shown. But there were no red peppers or broccoli. I know the chef personally went through all kinds of different trials and recipe tweaks to get it absolute perfection. The hamachi collar is one of the best I've had as well. One of the friends in our group said it was her favorite dish of the night besides the wings. The pad Kee mao is legit, so much flavor and we totally killed that dish. If you're into inventive creative dishes, try the kimchi fries, interesting way to make loaded fries. All the sushi rolls that we ordered were delicious, chef's kiss "mwah"! Service: Stop by the bar and say Hello to Michelle. She is the sweetest! I've talked to a couple regulars who love going here and I'm sure it's because of the friendly staff. Hyoun K. "Holy cow... Where do I even begin. I want to preface this with the fact that this area doesn't have a good Thai restaurant. There are very few options and they aren't amazing by any means. If you want Thai that's delicious, your only choice is to go into Nashville. Every few days, I drive down Main Street to take my daughter to her dance studio. Previously, this was a local hot chicken restaurant that went out of business. I noticed the sign and wondered when it would open. As I was driving back home today, I noticed A LOT of cars in the parking lot. Convenient too because I was wondering what I was going to do for dinner since I just got back from a work trip and I had no groceries. I walked in and this place was slammed. Line out the door. I was told they opened on the 30th but their grand opening is October 10th. While waiting in line, a lady told me she's been a few times already and she's a foodie from Austin and this place ties with some of the best there. She told me that the only comparable place was VN Pho in East Nashville. I know VN Pho, that place is legit so I knew she knew what she was talking about. Excited, I got table service and ordered the Tom Kha and Red Curry. This place is CHEAP. With tax, it was $18.16 and I left completely full. The Tom Kha was THE BEST Tom Kha ever. Perfect balance of sweet coconut and tart. The ingredients were fresh and the slices of chicken were absolutely perfect. It was so good, I drank the broth directly from the bowl. No using a spoon here. The Red Curry was equally fantastic. A rich, sweet flavor, fresh veggies, tender slices of pork, with plenty of spices for that extra kick. The food was so good, I started texting everyone I knew that loved Thai food and said they needed to come here. I have a new go-to place for Thai and it's in my own backyard. I can't wait to try the other dishes."

So while we went ahead and got some sushi (sushi bar is small but the quality is top notch!), we absolutely had to also get one of the more unique sounding dishes. Art C. "Like others, this is our go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. I believe the owners are Taiwanese as there are a ton of Taiwanese style dishes on the menu. Speaking of which, we've never had any of the American style Chinese dishes on the menu so if that's your thing, I can't help with that. But their traditional ("authentic") dishes are all quite good... and not just Memphis good either. This food could stand up to any city in America. We've been there several times at this point. My favorites are the Taiwanese "snacks": fried pork chop or chicken over rice, pork over rice, etc. Also love their pork meatballs, pork and taro dish, pickled cabbage soup, singapore noodles, etc...I suspect there's not a bad dish on the menu. Service-wise... I'm not a fan. Same with the general ambiance (long waits while they service take-out, host watching tv while we eat, etc.)... It's unprofessional. But the food... you gotta love it."

After waiting for a few minutes at the counter where takeout was, nobody showed up and I walked to the kitchen and asked through the open door about how to get pickup. Terrible. As for the food, I wasn't pleased; the first time I came here was surprisingly good so I'm disappointed this time, especially because pad kee mao is a pretty standard noodle dish that's served in all Thai restaurants. All the noodles were stuck together, it was pretty bad. Asked for spicy and they gave me a container of spicy oil on the side, instead of adding spicy peppers inside the noodles themselves. Good amount of basil and tofu, along with broccoli and onion, but definitely could do with more vegetables in general. For the price and quality, it's pretty expensive at $16. Wouldn't recommend it, there are likely better Thai places around."

Robert S. "Located in a small strip mall just off Sam Ridley Pkwy, this is a store selling dry goods, fresh, frozen and canned food from a good number of asian countries. I recognized Thai, Lao, Chinese, Indian and Japanese products. The restaurant, which has a busy lunch period, is slower at dinner which means more attention can be paid to customers like myself. We were promptly seated, asked for drinks, and ordered appetizers before we were able to warm up the seats. Our young hostess jumped up and took care of us upon arrival, and her older sister (I'm guessing this is a family-owned business) took over to take our order and everything after that. The Summer Roll, known as Spring Rolls at most other places, were fresh with shrimp halves strategically spread throughout ($1 extra for shrimp, 2 rolls/4 pieces per order). The peanut dipping sauce was warm and definitely store-made, warm and rich. The Tom Kha soup was served in the traditional hot pot with a small cube of Sterno-like fuel to keep things warm. The soup was rich, with a very strong coconut taste and surprisingly strong lemongrass notes. On the borderline of too much lemongrass for my taste, but just right for my dinner companion. The shrimp were not overdone and were plentiful. I ordered medium spicy but it tasted like there was no spice, so I added some from the container on the table. The Pad Kee Mao was hot and fresh. It tasted good and came with no heat (as ordered). The chicken was sliced thin and cooked fast, so everything tasted fresh and not overcooked. The service was good. We enjoyed our visit and are sure we will return. The groceries seem on the high side of cost but we also found some items that were not commonly available that we would otherwise need to go up to Nashville to get."
