"A lot of people say this place is overrated but I thought it lived up to the hype. Price was honestly pretty reasonable too. Amazing staff. Amazing ambiance. Excited to take out of town friends here."
"When I tell you I love Cordelia's - I absolutely love Cordelia's. I am living temporarily in Memphis and this place has brought me a ton of sunshine during my stay here. The cafe is outstanding. My personal faves are the Valerie's or Chris' sandwiches. I mean DELICIOUS. Definitely choose the voodoo chips! I will miss those dearly when I leave the south. The classic breakfast sandwich is also up there in deliciousness. The customer service is always top notch and I'm happy to spend some money here. For the grocery section, my only complaint is that because it's a small grocery store the product turnover can be slow. Several times I've purchased items forgetting to check the expiration date and got home to realize things expired in a couple of days and before I'd really use them. I also purchased a pack of meat and when I was getting ready to cook it for dinner, I saw it was completely brown and rotten even though it was before the expiration date. I called in and they were apologetic and said I could bring the meat back but I live 20-25 minutes away and haven't been able to come back since. So I'm just out of that money unfortunately. Now keeping that in mind, this place is so well stocked for such a small grocery store! They have everything I'd ever need here (and more) and the prices are so reasonable. I love their chicken salads and definitely recommend giving those a try. The butcher meat is also super fresh. I got a couple of ribeyes from the butcher that were amongst the best I've ever had.All in all, please support this local business!"
"We have been back here a number of times and the food is usually excellent and authentic. I don't like the tortas here but I like most of the tacos.I love these restaurant-store combos so I was excited when hubby wanted me to come here. They have all the normal options so I tried my usual. They also have a salsa bar so you can grab lots of different stuff. Much of it was too spicy even for me. I was excited to see pico with and without cactus.Their drinks are fantastic. I loved my horchata and it didn't have that chalky aftertaste that some places have. Their chicken has a special flavor to it that makes it delightful. I wasn't a big fan of the carnitas because I don't like the cueritos, which they usually add to the carnitas (even if you ask for it without them). To Try: Taco de pescadotaco de pollo rostizado Loved:- Drink: Horchata- Taco: Pollo Asado- Quesadilla: al Pastor (Joel likes)Liked:- Taco: Al Pastor- Taco: Camaron- Quesadilla: Pollo AsadoOk:- Churro: Fresa- Flautas- Taco: Carnitas- Taco: ChorizoDisliked:- Churro: Crema- Drink: Tamarindo- Flautas: Pollo- Sope: al Pastor- Torta: Chorizo- Torta: al Pastor"

Possibly my new favorite Oxford eatery. Every dish was delicious, and cooked to perfection. I LOVE shrimp and grits when it's done well, and this was good, really good. Steak was tender, fish was excellent. Service was really hospitable - from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the manager (yep, somehow managed to interact with them all!) Ambiance is lively (a little loud when it's busy, to be fair), cool old building with a ton a character. This is a fairly tough reservation for a reason! Looking forward to returning.

Great little community market located on the beautiful Island of Mud. This specific spot is know lovingly as Harbor Town by the locals. Is this place on an island? Why no.... Why would you think that? Perhaps Mud Peninsula didn't flow off the tongue as well. Back on track, squirrel boy...I love that I can overpay for all the specialty niche items here, and still leave with a sense of accomplishment that is somehow tied to winning. What is it about this place? The people are nice. Sure thing, buddy, boy. The place is clean. Yea man. It's pretty well stocked with all the basic staples, and they have a great variety of cool eats as well. You can get enough of a food and supply selection to never leave the island should it start floating down the MS River. You'll just need to dock it occasionally to replenish. Specialty items are most definitely abound. They sell lots of local items, along with a plethora of stuff you cannot find anywhere else. I dig it.... I almost always walk through if I am ever nearby. You should too! Support local businesses! '24 - 101/101 I made it!

Located in an unassuming strip mall, this charming shop doubles both as a Grocery as well as an awesomely authentic Mexican taqueria, so I am very glad that Kristina M suggested this as the 2nd stop on the UYE Tamale Tour she organized! The location has plenty of parking and it was hopping busy on the Saturday mid-morning when our group of 6 arrived. We couldn't find any spare tables to sit and eat, but the turnover is quick and by the time we paid for our food, there were some empty chairs available. Staff were super friendly and helped us despite being extremely busy!I split a chicken Tamale 6-pack with x2 others and my Tamale was delicious. Loved how fresh and creamy the corn covering was. The chicken was also well seasoned. There were some other things that I'd like to try as well on their menu and definitely plan to return. What slightly sucked tho is that I paid as much for my real fruit juice (aka no fake stuff) as the Tamale! How can you attempt to eat/ drink healthy when the good real stuff costs so much??? (Ok, rant over)I also did some shopping at the grocery- picked up some beautiful, ripe guavas and also Yelper Daniel C recommended the sugared dry fruit - I got fig and papaya - super delicious if a bit too sugary! I really wanted to pick up the freshly made chorizo from their butcher section but their version has both beef+pork so decided to give it a skip. I also spotted a lot of other great stuff in the grocery like dried sassafras & hibiscus flowers and then some stuff that I just wasn't totally sure about - it's always cool to encounter foodstuffs that you haven't eaten/ experimented with previously. I will definitely return!Yelp Review: 23/2017

Awesome ; You always hear about people discussing the best burgers establishments. It's truly sad how some people miss out on quality and great food due to locations. Let me tell you this business has better burgers then most major brands that I have tried in my lifetime. The burgers are always fresh, hot, full of flavor and large. I had the double cheeseburger combo which come with fries . When I tell you this is what a homemade burger should taste like I am telling the total truth . I will never eat anyone's else burger from this day forward. Yes; it's just that good. The cashier and everyone inside the store is extremely friendly ( and yes it's a small grocery which sells hot fresh exceptional hot food). I promise you will not be disappointed...

"I loved it. The food was good and hot. I love the family oriented business. It was pretty busy, but the food is so worth it. It is cooked hot and fresh and we all know those hole in the walls are the best of the best. No pics sorry guys. I ordered the cheeseburger combo and it came with a drink. It was under $8."
"Best soul food in South Memphis and not expensive at all ($5.99 for a meat, 2 veggies and a cornbread muffin)"
