"These days, in the world of e-commerce, you can get just about anything, delivered anywhere. However, there can always be that exception to the rule. For instance, I always need to have a local florist in tap in case I need to find that perfect item- being able to find what you need, in the quantity you need, and hopefully on the whim.Thanks to Debbie P's review, I went to go check this place out before work on Monday. I went in, and I kind of sorta felt out of place (but that is most places I guess you can say). I was greeted by 2 people, and they asked me if I needed anything. I told them my objective, and they gave me a quick rundown of the place.As I was looking around, I was in awe of everything they had to offer, and the actual décor of the place. This is not your typical mom and pop florist- it is uber hip, yet refined at the same time. This place is pretty high end as well- expect to drop some bills in here. I saw some beautiful orchids that I was going to get, and then I realized it was part of a vase set- oops! They showed me the place in the back with the walk in that had all sorts of goodies in there. On the wall outside of it, had the prices of the flowers written in chalk. I found some cool things in there, and I picked them up. I decided to still look around- as they had lots of gifts, from cacti to candles to books, to fountains and lawn ornaments. Hell, if they had food, it would truly be a one stop shop! I couldn't stay in there too long, or I know I could have done some serious damage in there. The young lady who checked me out was very friendly, and she took great care of my purchase. It was a simple transaction, and I was glad to have done business. I also found out that the guy who works there used to live in Louisville (as I told him I literally just got back in town), so we were talking for a bit about that- it sure is a small world!If you do not mind spending some extra money, it is definitely worth it, as this is a place of high quality! I wonder if they team up with the Botanical Garden at all?"

"I specifically looked for a small, locally owned shop for flowers for a funeral. I'm in KC and unfamiliar with the Memphis area, but searched and found this company. The owner was kind, friendly, and helpful. She sent me a text picture of the flower basket and it was delivered the morning of the funeral. Two days later when a family member said she didn't see the flower basket at the service, the business owner called the church, gathered information, and was only kind and respectful toward me. The flowers were, indeed delivered and had been apparently picked up by another family member. I was disappointed my SIL didn't receive the flowers and much to my surprise Tiffany took on her own accord to order flowers for my SIL. I'm so grateful for this small business and the level of service I received!! Check out the plant basket with added flowers she created!!! Beautiful flowers and amazing customer service!!!"

"It was a joy working with Holly for my wedding floral needs. I provided her a ridiculously small budget of $500 for my bouquet, table decorations, corsages, centerpieces, and other flower needs, and she was able to meet my budget with beautiful arrangements. She was very responsive (I was planning my Memphis wedding from Chicago) and organized. I received my invoices within 48 hours over e-mail and was able to pay off my balance online.Because I had s small budget, Holly adjusted my table arrangements to simple gladiolas and greenery, and my bouquet was classic red roses and curly willow. Everything was very simple and classic and looked gorgeous. (I have seem pictures of her other arrangements, and she is also skilled at must more artistic and contemporary floral designs.) Holly was also able to accommodate an additional request of an Indian-style wedding garland.Once I communicated my flower needs, Holly sent pictures, and set up a mock display of the arrangements in her floral studio in Midtown. She charges an additional fee for setup and take down of the flowers, but it is reasonably priced and I was glad to have her in charge of setup. (In retrospect, I would have paid the additional fee to have her take down and handle the flowers instead of my family members.)Cannot say enough good things- this was probably my most positive wedding vendor experience!"

They have been in business for nearly 50 years, and they could not have succeeded for that length of time if they were otherwise!! Their 'stock' of flowers and greenery is very high quality, and their professionalism always is quite evident in their arrangements!! I just ordered an arrangement of flowers for my wife for our anniversary, and she was thrilled!! The actual flowers were beautiful, and Nell's staff did an excellent job in making the arrangement!! Even after a week, the roses and other flowers remain beautiful - and will be enjoyed for a few days yet. AND - the flowers were delivered exactly when requested!! There is no doubt that Nell's can be depended upon for quality and for very friendly, professional service!! Why go anywhere else in Jackson?? You don't turn your back on perfection!!!"

"I spent a lot of time researching florists in the Memphis area and finally decided Holliday fit the bill.I ordered an arrangement to be delivered to my friend for her 40th birthday that was a few days away. I requested delivery for the day before her birthday so she could enjoy them throughout.I also requested they call her prior to arrival to ensure she was home (since I wasn't sure what her plans were when I ordered them.)The day of the delivery, it was early evening and I had not heard from the recipient that she had received an arrangement, so I became concerned.I called Holliday to inquire and told deliveries were still ongoing. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and said she would call the driver to see where they were with the delivery. I explained I wasn't so much worried about the timing even though it was starting to get a little late. However, I did advise that the driver no longer needed to call my friend to confirm she was home since I had already confirmed she was there and not planning on leaving for the rest of the evening. The shop employee stated she would let the driver know.A couple of hours later, my friend thanked me for the arrangement she had just received. She said she missed the initial delivery attempt because the driver called while she was trying to put her small child down to sleep. Fortunately, she was able to call the driver back to let them know she was home, then they delivered the arrangement. A bit frustrating considering I had updated them but they called anyway.I only saw one small picture of the arrangement, but it looked OK from what I could tell. She seemed to like it so it was mostly a win at the end of it all."

"Old Hickory Florist, It has been awhile since we have crossed paths. I have used you numerous times in the past, and you have never stirred me wrong with my floral needs from my prom back in 2004 for my corsage and boutonniere to now for my mom's birthday flowers -- you've been pretty solid. For the latest call, I talked to Katie who took my order and delivered some wonderful flowers to my mom for her birthday last week.They were beautiful, and extremely well put together as most of their floral arrangements. Katie called when they delivered the flowers which I was greatly appreciative for. My only complaint was on this latest call was that I told them I wanted to spend a certain amount of money for this because I am on a bit of budget, and they charged me $10 more than I had allotted for them to spend. I am still happy with the arrangement and the overall service, but I wasn't happy about them spending more than I had told them....Anyway, they're a great florist. My grandparents used to own a florist in Jackson, and I asked here where she would recommend to get flowers from if she had to choose - it was here. She likes them. They've been around for a long time -- no doubt they'll be around for a long time to come."

I contacted him after an unacceptable experience with FTD, I glad that I took the extra and best steps to personally locate and place my floral order directly and personally with City Florist in Jackson, Tennessee. Kemp, the owner ofCity Florist, solved the issue of me living in Minnesota sending a funeral spray to Jackson, TN without going through FTD, Telefloral etc. He was accommodating, informative, and the arrangement is beautiful. I know it's beautiful because he honored my request to text me a photo of the actual arrangement that I paid for. From now on I will skip the Telafloral, FTD's so called "convenience" and work directly with individual fulfilling florist. That way I see exactly what I ordered and the florist, who does all the work and incurs all the expense of running a brick and mortar business, gets the full amount that I pay. I will call on Kemp in the future for all of my floral needs in the Jackson, TN area. Thanks Kemp!"

"I was in Centerville for work and noted the distinct lack of (what I consider to be) quality lodging. I decided to give a B&B a try (even though I don't like forced socialization and don't consider myself to be a B&B type of gal.) But I didn't want to drive 30 minutes every day to work, so I gave in. Wow. First, beautiful home. Tasteful furnishings, nicely done. I stayed in the Lincoln Room, which was large and comfortable. Each bedroom has a private (modern) bathroom, Satellite TV, a personal ice maker and Keurig (with all the fixings), plenty of seating and storage. Oh, and wi-fi (which I was incredibly grateful for). The InnKeeper Sharon was pleasant and friendly, without being overbearing. She was so incredibly accommodating, making breakfast around my schedule. And the breakfasts were almost too big. Homemade, tasty, really lovely. The price was so reasonable as well.My favorite part was sitting on the front porch each evening, drinking a glass of wine (from a local winery) and enjoying the quiet. As a city girl, I don't want the peace and quiet too often, but it was nice for a few days. If work takes me back to Centerville (sigh), I will absolutely stay here. Seriously, give it a try. You won't be sorry. Probably."
