"This is a perfectly fine convenience store located across the street from the Peabody Hotel. I popped in for Diet Cokes, snacks, and a few postcards. It's handy, too, if you forget your toothpaste or need some Advil. Not cheap, of course, but very convenient. Adequately clean. Friendly guy at the counter. Well stocked."
"Fratesi Brothers Grocery is a gas station/grocery/sandwich shop near the crossroads of Hwy 61 & Hwy 82 in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. The Fratesi Brothers are the sons of Italian immigrants who settled here to farm. Their breakfast and lunches are very popular with local farmers and others passing through. Be warned, you may have to share a table with someone but no worries as you are in the south and everyone is hospitable. Who knows you might make a new acquaintance. Most dishes are American with a little Italian and Louisiana Creole mixed in for flavor. You gotta try the turkey melt sandwich on ciabatta bread. I also like the Philly chicken poboy. Their burgers and plate lunches are popular as well."
"Nice folks and a little local gas station with good breakfast sandwiches. I love when gentlemen open doors and everyone you pass say's good morning. The lady at the food counter was so nice."
"Why write a review of a gas station? Because everyone in Memphis needs to know about the Beer Room inside of this place. There's a walk-in cooler that is almost as big as the store. Giant selection, accepts credit cards. Can't go wrong!!"
"My husband and I recently moved to the area. We just tried their pizza, and it was delicious! We will definitely be getting it again!"
"Fuel & Food ~15 miles outside of town.Nothing spectacular ... but it's a SUPER CONVENIENT stop if you're in the area.Lots of warehouses nearby with 1,000s of workers needing a quick, hot meal. Slayden offers more than the standard gas station food -including chicken, catfish, spaghetti, etc. They even have SMOKED RIBS. Yes, I said ribs -Full slab, half or 3-bone! Chicken Tenders were good -but still needed sauce. People were super-friendly."
"They will let you order whatever you want, even if it's not on the menu, which I love... I haven't had anything bad, their Philly cheese steak is by far the best one in town. Always hot and fresh, we love this lunch spot!"
"This is a fairly standard convenience store, though I will say their beer selection is a little better than you'll see at your average gas station or even some grocery stores. Nothing too amazing, but if I recall correctly there are about 10 coolers and there are some choices outside of the very standard stuff. Be careful to check freshness dates on your beer purchases though, you'll see summer brews in the middle of winter and things like that. The service isn't amazing but you can get to know the owners and they really do value their customers, to the point that they'll even special order items for you. There is some candy and snack selection along with a sparse few other things like motor oil, but it is clear this place makes its money on beers and cigarettes. I have no problem coming here for beer if I know they have what I like as they are close to where I live and I know they are owned by good folks. Good place to grab a snack too, when you're in the mood.Looks a hair shady from the outside, but it is a fine part of town and you have nothing to worry about. Its most frequent customers are college kids."
"Decent enough gas station with the usual convenience store items inside. It also has chicken and pizza. The gas is well priced."
"This place is a Shell Station, with an odd name. The sign says: PAK-A-POK: Convenience at its best; Although this place has a rough looking building, cracked pavement, truck parking in the back... maybe eight trucks, if you can get in. They do have diesel and regular gas fuels. The Deli inside has some really good southern fried fish, Cajun sausages and other items. The ladies are the nicest people you will ever meet. Polite and always willing to say hello. Very clean, restrooms, although small. They have some unique wallpaper: Lucille Ball & James Dean pointing to the Men's restroom. A group of older men sit and drinking coffee, telling tales and talking to the locals mornings. And this place is a busy area in the morning and at lunch with the locals. A line at the deli usually. There is an old laundromat in the back in a separate building. A bit expensive, but the closest you will ever be to a laundromat, when parking s rig. The SAXON restaurant is just next door. They only have outdoor seating, some covered. Pleasant workers and they aim to please. They also will take call-in orders. No drive way though. We really enjoyed the place. It is small and great care needs to be taken entering and exiting the place."
"Great place very clean !! Great service awesome food and good prices .Paul from Louisiana!"
"The interior of this store has been remodeled, and it looks really nice.If you buy dairy items like milk, be sure to check before you leave that it hasn't curdled. The owners here are really pleasant. The gasoline sales have been discontinued indefinitely. They also still make sandwiches from their deli counter."

Love this place. They sometimes change their hours on a whim but other then that it's true to its name. Very friendly staff, very clean store, and usually I feel very safe shopping here. Prices are right and they even have hot foods.

I never would've found this place on my own. I was nearby, at Mississippi Delta State University in Moorhead and when I asked a local photographer where I could grab lunch nearby, he didn't hesitate... drive about 20-25 minutes down the road and get a sandwich at Fratesi Brothers. It's legit. Tucked in a gas station. Been there forever. Packed with locals eating and a bunch of characters behind the counter. I came in hungry and was being indecisive, so I asked the woman at the counter what she recommended. I ended up with a cheesesteak, grabbed a bag of chips and a sweet tea from the gas station, and was not disappointed.

Balenger's has long been my favorite gas station in Midtown. 1st they're the only station in Midtown or even in Memphis that carries pure gas with no ethanol! What could be better than that? A giant beer cooler full of high gravity and interesting beers. How can you top that? How about an app that allows you to pay for gas before you even get out of the car and stores you're cents per gallon discounts ready for use! It's also worth noting that the employees are always super friendly at this gas station! I love this balenger's BP gas station!

Great sandwiches - hot and cold! Salads desserts smoothies and more available. At new location on Main Street - don't be fooled by the gas pumps out front, it was delicious!

Located right next door to Dino's Italian Grill, this puts the convenience in convenience stores. Mainly a purveyor of beverages, they have a variety of beer choices. I try to buy something here each time my family utilizes their parking lot, since street parking is sometimes nonexistent. This business is now called McLean Mart, per the sign on the south side of the building.

"This independent convenience store and gas station is certainly handy for those in this mixed industrial/residential neighborhood. There is a significant amount of foot traffic here. The prices are high, as is typical for this type of a business. They feature Hunt Brothers Pizza, which can be really delicious, if purchased when freshly made. The sanitation here is very iffy, so be forewarned. They also sell gasoline. Sometimes the pumps are leaking and get placed out-of-service, though. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying any fuel here, if only for personal safety."
"Stopped in here to get gas one morning and went inside and noticed they had breakfast available. I got a sausage egg biscuit and it was fantastic. One thing that is always a positive sign is it is full of local's every morning. They have sausage, bacon, ham, chicken, pork tenderloin, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. This is a definite stop for breakfast if in the area."
"This place is amazing! It has the charm of an old country general store... oh, it is! Kodos to the owner for keeping this place running. I could tell this is the community's base. The staff knew everyone, gave all customers equal attention and served up some stupidly delicious food. They are famous for their burgers and rightfully so. They are cooked on an old griddle that I am sure contributes to the flavor. The buns are soft and sweet. The fries are crisped perfectly and the fried pies took me back to my granny's kitchen in Sparta, TN! This place is definitely worth the drive. I love this place."
"When it opened. It was great. Always in stock and staff was super friendly. They're still friendly but the last 3 times I've been in there. The kitchen has been closed. It's supposed to be 24 hours. But I come in before work at 1am. They says it's under staffed, so I get why but if that kitchen isn't open there's zero reason to go out of my way to get there"
"This gas station can be convenient for northbound traffic. Due to high traffic volumes on State Highway 77, I would not recommend southbound traffic attempting to turn left onto this property. The car wash here stopped working many years ago, so don't be tempted to pay for one when prompted at the pumps. Sometimes the areas around the fuel dispensers can be dirty with thick mud, and poorly kept. The merchandise inside is expensive, and service can sometimes be very slow. There are certainly nicer alternatives in the area."
"I keep getting disappointed by this gas station. QuickTrip consistently fails to maintain the equipment at the fuel dispensers. This makes it super inconvenient for me to be able to purchase gasoline quickly. For example, the keypad at fuel dispenser #5 would not accept any input, thereby preventing me from using my gasoline fleet card. Employees there seemed very unconcerned. I went elsewhere to purchase my fuel. There's no sense in economically rewarding a business that fails to maintain their facility. Because they have wasted my time several times, I shall not return."
"I would avoid stopping at this particular Valero gas station, which I believe to be the only one remaining in operation within the town of Earle. This place also has been doing business under the name "Barcelona Mart".Prices are exceedingly high, and there are somewhat better convenience stores located further along U.S. Highway 64 in both directions.Least impressive was the filthy, overly warm, and stench-ridden men's restroom. They don't believe in running air conditioning in the restrooms during the warm parts of the year. One and a half stars, rounded down to one star, mainly due to the lack of sanitation and astoundingly foul odors."
"I wouldn't say EXCELLENT SERVICE with exclamation marks. That is just a plain lie. Not that customer service is bad at all just saying EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! Been in here plenty. Same service you get at any gas station. When someone helps you with what you need its called doing their job. If someone down right goes out of their way too make sure you have an excellent experience or runs full speed outside to give you some change you forgot THAT is "EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! and I have never seen that here. " Anyways now to the real reason I am posting a review. Stopped in yesterday to use the restroom. The mens room was very dingy but atleast they had soap. Nothing to dry your hands on. They have never had clean bathrooms in my years of coming here."
"This place is kinda sketcy. Employees are friendly. They have good fried chicken, but for a corner store the prices are kinda high. Store is not completely sanitary. Many beer heads and panhandlers are always on the lot. I rarely stop here because I'm always approached by beggars. Sometimes by more than one."
"This is the worst place i have ever been. The lady behind the counter was unbelievably rude, walked away from me while i was trying to check out, and would not even address that i was there. i have never in my life been served by such a terrible attitude."
"I was needing gasoline and snacks before hitting the road again. Super Stop was conveniently located just at the bottom of the hill from the Hampton and the other hotels located on the hill. The clerk was friendly and the store was clean. Even though the store is on the smaller side I found a nice variety of snacks and beverages. I was shocked at $1.89 for a 44 oz soda. I only pay $.89 -$.99 at Speedway and Thorton stations. They have 2 narrow lanes with 4 gas pumps but obviously functional. There is a small area where you can wait as you pull in. Again, it was nice being so convenient to the hotels and the interstate ramp."
"Jackson's best Mexican restaurant is in the back of the Mexican grocery store. No need to worry if you're getting the freshest ingredients! The food they prepare is excellent and my only desire would be that the menu be expanded."
"This is a really great place to stop in for a sandwich and a drink, or even just a snack. I was impressed with the quality of the the food here.note: This business is actually located within the small town of Aubrey."
"I've been coming here for years and somehow I've failed to review it. It's a gas station and convenience store, but I'm reviewing the kitchen portion of the business. They serve breakfast and lunch. Catfish, fried chicken, hamburger steak, and oh my god, pot roast!!! They serve every vegetable you can think of too. This is order in line and pay at the counter. There are a few tables for seating, but most people take their lunch back to work. Each day they'll have two or three meats and several vegetables. The line moves fairly quick because they just plate your food up cafeteria style. It's not the nicest place to eat, but the food really is good, and you will get a lot for your money. They don't skimp on portions. They cook homemade southern style and they actually use cast iron. Whatever you get, you gotta try their brown gravy! You gotta try their biscuits too. They really can cook!"
"You know I usually can't stand Shell Station's.. My experience has been that they are very dirty, and not cared for. Which makes the user experience really bad! This Shell Truck stop was better then bad, and could use some tender loving care, but was a nice surprise compared to some Shell Stations I have been in! The staff I dealt with was very nice and the store was fairly clean! If you need to stop for gas, or a Diet Coke this is an ok spot to do so. It wont be the best you have even been in, but also is far better then the worst!"
"I didn't really believe my co-workers when they said that the gas stations in Tupelo had pretty good food, but decided to give it a try while I was out there on a business trip and it was close to the site. Wow, I can honestly say it is the best food I've ever gotten at a gas station! Their fried catfish was solid! Perfect amount of breading, big fillets, warm, moist, perfect seasoning! The sides were great too, they cooked their beans with chunks of meat, and the Mac and cheese was warm and cheesy. The chicken tenders weren't bad, but I had just eaten tenders from Connie's the day before and these didn't quite match up.Will definitely come back here if I'm back at the site in Tupelo."
"We were visiting from Missouri and drove by and decided to stop... Just in case. My wife was sooo happy! This is as close to a legit Mexican Grocery store since we found our faves in KC.The produce all looked super fresh, the meat looked good by was covered in plastic so I guess the butcher had already left.Tons of local folks in there, clean and had a good vibe. Check it out."
"The owners are awesome and treat every customer with respect. The school kids from Cordova show respect and are always coming in after school. The owners are never rude and always greet every one with a smile and a hello when entering the store. I come here often...almost too much (never). Whatever you need, if they don't have it, tell them and I guarantee they will have it next time. They are truly a store that listens to their customers."
"I was traveling through and stopped for gas and drinks. It was in the evening and a foreigner was working a man and he never acknowledged me at the register and was talking on the phone the entire time and in his language which is very rude! You don't talk on the phone when you have a customer and especially not in a foreign language! You are supposed to greet your customers and ask if that's all. He rang up my drinks and never asked if I needed a bag! I had to ask for one! And then to find out that he had Covid and had no mask on and shouldn't even be working around people or food! He has no customer service skills at all and shouldn't even be in the job he's in!"
"I like stopping here at this particular Jordan's Exxon because it's convenient to Interstate 55, and also due to the employees who are mostly helpful, friendly, and/or competent. The restrooms are kept pretty clean, and well-stocked.They have a variety of food items for sale: from candy bars, to Big Rock Pizzas, to fried chicken tenders.Fortunately, the tractor trailer rigs have their own separate, dedicated fueling area, away from regular passenger vehicles. Both diesel fuel and gasoline are sold here. This is my first choice for fueling up when I'm in this area. I recommend this 24/7 business."
"Good quick and easy stop coming off the highway. We didn't eat the BBQ, but I have to mention their excellent selection of Samuel Smith's products, including some that I have only seen in large format liquor retailers. Everything you could want from the line. Very cool. It's a clean place and very close to downtown."
"It's a small mom and pop country store. They also sell worms for fishing. My 16 year old daughter was hesitant when we pulled up because it doesn't look like a restaurant. It's cozy. There are only 4 or 5 small tables inside. Menu is written on a chalkboard. They also have a meat counter where customers can get meat sliced to order or sandwiches made. Home made pies too. Don't let the looks throw you. Do not pass this place up! The owners are super friendly and the food is FANTASTIC! The last six health inspections scored a perfect 100 - can't do better than that. My daughter had the cheese burger, I had the BBQ. We both had fries and sweet tea. Within a few bites my daughter decided we would be coming back! In short, the burger was excellent. The fries were quite possibly the best I have ever had. No salt or ketchup needed. The BBQ was wonderful - as good as any from Memphis BBQ legends. Even the sweet tea was just right - sweet but not too sweet. Desert was still warm fudge pie topped with pecans. Delicious. We ended up sampling BBQ ham and turkey from the meat counter and took home a pound of each for sandwiches. It's going fast! We left feeling like we had made new friends, and definitely will be returning for the food. Delicious."
"Stopped here as google maps threw it up as the closest Gas Station near the airport and I needed to fill up my rental car to avoid getting hit up with a $9.99 per gallon charge if I returned the rental car without a full tank. So there are two issues that I had with this gas station. Firstly I needed a paper receipt and indicated "Yes" when asked by the gas pump computer but then at the end of the transaction, no receipt was available. Secondly to get back on the 1-240 west parkway and head back to the airport was very very difficult! In fact I missed my turn as couldn't get to the left and had to take a longer detour to get back to the parkway to head to the airport. Other than these two issues it was well lit and busy intersection so even tho' it was 6am in the morning and I was a single female, I didn't feel unsafe stopping here to fill gas. Might stop here again if need gas to fill up rental car again. Note: #394 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016"
