"Walked around MemphisTown for a good part of the day and then I had to drive to Jonesboro, Arkansas this fine hot Sunday. Temperatures were in the high nineties and I worked up a thirst that some friggin' slushee wasn't going to satisfy. When I arrived, I found out that Jonesboro is practically a dry town. On top of that, I found out that it is illegal to sell beer in Arkansas on Sunday.Well, F..k that S..T. I have a thirst for the hops and I'm gonna figure out how to get it, even if it means going back to Memphis. Looking at the map, I see Cardwell, Missouri is only twenty five miles away. I figure some some opportunistic entrepeneur will take adavantage of this and set up a money machine on the Missouri-Arkansas border.God Bless America! Right on the Missouri side of the bridge separating two states was a big old warehouse selling hootch. Mr T's Riverside Liquor store. The parking lot was crowded so there was a thirsty customer base there. Beer, Liquor and Junk Food, it's all there.Inside, there was people from all walks of life, from functional millionaire alcholics in three piece suits to raggity ass wino's. All bound together in harmony through the mutual need and love of alcohol. It was quite a treat watching people walking out the door clutching their precious packages of booze.I got my six pack of beer and went back to Jonesboro a happy camper. Arkansas blue laws, I spit on your grave."

"This is a fairly standard convenience store, though I will say their beer selection is a little better than you'll see at your average gas station or even some grocery stores. Nothing too amazing, but if I recall correctly there are about 10 coolers and there are some choices outside of the very standard stuff. Be careful to check freshness dates on your beer purchases though, you'll see summer brews in the middle of winter and things like that. The service isn't amazing but you can get to know the owners and they really do value their customers, to the point that they'll even special order items for you.There is some candy and snack selection along with a sparse few other things like motor oil, but it is clear this place makes its money on beers and cigarettes. I have no problem coming here for beer if I know they have what I like as they are close to where I live and I know they are owned by good folks. Good place to grab a snack too, when you're in the mood.Looks a hair shady from the outside, but it is a fine part of town and you have nothing to worry about. Its most frequent customers are college kids."

"First time at Sunday Songwriters Night at the Mockingbird Theatre. Located in Building 6 at the Factory in Franklin. The venue offers an up close musical experience with a quality sound system. This unique space offers an intimate setting that is perfect for date night or GNO. I didn't try the bar this time but it would be nice to grab a drink before a show or stop by for Happy Hour. After always going to Nashville for music it is so nice to find a great venue with free parking in Franklin. It seems like they are adding more shows so check out their Facebook page or Eventbrite. I would prefer they ditch the plastic cups & paper tickets. Looking forward to the next show!"

And the prices are fair...not outrageous like some...**cough, Kimbrough Towers Fine Wine & Spirits on Union**. The staff is very friendly and quick to answer any questions you may have. They are open from 10 am to 11 pm Monday through Saturday, which I greatly appreciate. I can't tell you how many times I pop in there on the way to my girlfriend's house after dinner when we just want to pop open a bottle of wine and talk about boys."

"When passing through Kentucky on the bourbon trail highway, I started to wish this was a big girl trip and not 2 moms with 3 daughters. Then we cross the state line into Tennessee and get on the Music highway when I start to think of Tennessee whiskey. These two moms take a quick stop at the liquor store for a night cap in our hotel room. I don't know if he was the owner or employee but the fellow at the register chatted us up as we explained we wanted local Tennessee whiskey and some Kentucky bourbon. He showed us his favorites and gave us suggestions. He was friendly and knowledgeable on his liquors. I'm happy with my souvenirs! It's a nice change to all the stuffed animals, books, and toys we were buying our little girls."

Then, I spotted this new wine and spirits store. I found a parking space and was able to walk to her downtown condo with ease. The ladies running the store were very helpful in my effort to pick a nice bottle for the specific occasion. I know my friend likes red wine, but I'm better at picking white wine. The whole transaction took five minutes and I arrived at the celebration on time. This specific area has been a difficult hub to grab a quick bottle of wine to present at a get-together and I am glad to know this location is now available for a last-minute purchase. Woot!"

There are a couple other good wine shops nearby, but PW&S does a superior job marking down select bottles to prices you can't find elsewhere.Example: Michael-David wines (6th Sense, 7 Deadly Zins, Pettite Petit are priced about 30% less than what you ordinarily see). Red Diamond Merlot is an absolute steal at $7.99.They enjoy giving advice on really outstanding, affordable, bottles, and won't make you feel like an uncultured hick if you ask for advice. Just say what you're looking for, as in, "I'd like a bottle of the nectar of the gods for under $12", and they can help. Ask the guy with the incredible moustache.Really nice feature: 10% discount on cases bought whole or assembled."

"Limited options near our hotel led up to The Tap, and though we had a good time there I would be concerned about how sh*tty this bar gets later at night.The men's room has a sign that says, "Please don't hit our walls." This can't be a good omen. The atmosphere was great until karaoke started, at which point we took our cue and exited (no walls were harmed in the writing of this Yelp review). However, in the earlier hours of the Friday night we were there, RC was the bartender and was super friendly and entertaining. They have a really solid music selection, pool tables ($0.75 per game), and darts (not sure on the cost).Also have a nice happy hour that goes until 10 (yay!). Were I local, I think I would add this to my rotation."

This place is huge and has a very wide selection of wine and hard liquor for all your needs. I ended up trying a different wine, I was curious bc it's a sweet wine but the percentage of alcohol was 10% compared to most sweet when I'm in the mood usually has 5-7%. Wine wasn't bad.. not your normal sweet wine it has more of a alcohol taste. Staff is very helpful in assisting you with your needs."

"This is a craft beer-specific review. There seems to be some commonality in most of the liquor stores in Memphis--a tiny shelf of "big beer," most of it random Belgians, Brooklyns, and Unibroues well past their prime. In stark contrast to this standard predictable, threadbare option, Yorkshire liquors has a delightful little selection of high ABV beer, carefully curated to ensure an excellent mix of traditional standbys and some new blood. Like David T. points out, they tend to have some of the limited-quantity beers well after other places sell out. Right now, for instance, Bourbon County Stout is all over the place. There's a good amount of Belgians and domestic options here, including a number of interesting new ones like the Schlafly Pumpkin Ale, Goose Island's Belgians, and the New Belgium Lips of Faith. The selection isn't the largest, but I haven't yet seen an expired beer and there are very few duds among the groupings. They let you freely mix and match for 4 packs or 6 packs and the staff there has been very informative and helpful. Definitely the best spot east of Buster's for Craft Beer and a bit more enjoyable to shop at."
