Bailey D. "Soy Bistro has been on my radar for a while ... and I was finally able to stop in for lunch with a friend while I was in the Brentwood area. We got there right when they opened on a weekday, and there were already only a few tables left! It's clear this is a popular spot to grab a bite. Previous reviews that mention a small parking lot are correct - but if you time it right, you should be able to snag a spot. At the recommendation of one of the Soy Bistro team members, we started with an order of the edamame hummus and chips. This was a unique appetizer option, and one I probably wouldn't have ordered on my own. The hummus was bright and fresh, and the housemade chips were tasty, although the honey drizzle threw me off just a bit. For my entree, I went with the Gochujang Chicken, which also came highly recommended. This saucy, sweet, and spicy chicken was served on top of a mountain of perfectly cooked rice, and topped with a beautiful fried egg. The salad situation on the side wasn't my favorite - but everything else was delicious, and this is definitely something I'd order again. My friend went with the chicken fried rice, which was a huge portion, and she had enough leftovers to make a second meal. While the food was tasty, it's the service at Soy Bistro that is truly memorable. A few different members checked on our table several times, and you can tell that these are folks that love to get to know their regulars. I can't wait to return soon to try more of their fun Asian fusion menu."

I loved the grilled salmon w/out the sauce. We were too full to order dessert but this restaurant is perfect for any special meal. We will be back and the chef catered to our special food requests! Lovely dinner with our long time friends!"

Saniyah X. "We visited tonight for the first time because my family was in town and everything was absolutely delicious. I had the salmon teriyaki that comes with hibachi veggies and I opted for fried rice instead of white along with some yum yum sauce on the side. It came out piping hot on a skillet, the presentation was appealing, the portion was hefty and the flavors were scrumptious. The restaurant itself can seat about 50-100 people so it's not very large in size but don't let that deter you from trying it out."

Maddie H. "If you dare to venture way down Nolensville Pike you'll be rewarded with this locals-favorite. The shopping center has all kinds of international markets and restaurants so we are excited to go back and try other places as well. The interior is cozy with a sushi bar and small tables. There were a lot of families here because it's casual and the portion sizes are good. They have a robust menu with Japanese and Korean entrees and sushi. I ordered the Jap Chae which is a Korean dish of glass noodles, sauteed peppers and beef. This comes with all the amazing Korean sides of kimchi and other accoutrements. My favorite was a spiced cold potato and I also devoured the cucumbers. The serving size is unreal--I had to get a to-go box and ate this for like 3 days after! My husband ordered the chicken katsu which was also a good portion and he didn't eat all of it too. The women who were working there were so kind and came over to check on us several times. We would come back here since everything was great."

The Lao Papaya salad was spot on, the Beef Panama was good, but have never had it with cabbage in it...it was a new twist, the wings were ok. There were a number of things that I tend to like to try that weren't on this menu, but they also had a number of dishes I've never seen before which was nice. I love the steam buns. They are always delicious and the tempura fried shrimp was really great with the steam bun. The fried rice was just as good as when they cook it on the hibachi. The highlights we're the pork low mein and the Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef had great flavor, but not enough beef! It was 50/50 onions to beef. The low mein was great, lots of textures and surprisingly light. Don't forget the veggie springs roll, always a must order! Only a couple of low lights to the meal. The fried rice seemed old and dried out and General Tso's chicken was basically orange chicken. Still had good flavor, but zero heat. Mike N. "Thank you fellow Yelpers for your good reviews of this place. Lured by the outstanding reviews, I finally tried this place today, and I was not disappointed. Unlike some of you who admitted that you weren't really into sushi, I am a big fan of sushi. I have eaten some great sushi in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, etc. Sushi California offers some very good sushi in my humble opinion though I have to admit here that I'm not a huge fan of rolled sushi with gobs of sauce over it.First of all, I really enjoyed the quality and freshness of food starting with miso soup. It was very good. I have been frequently disappointed with very weak tasting miso soup elsewhere, but what I had was very flavorful. It communicated well to me that folks here take a good care in preparing their food. When I received my sushi, they tasted very fresh and good as I expected they would be. Obviously, they will not prepare your sushi until it's ordered. There's no ready-made rolls like I have experienced in the past at some establishments. Since the food is very good quality, expect to pay more than you'd normally pay at some restaurants around here.Service was very courteous and attentive. My server was very charming and friendly. I appreciated that a lot. I spoke with the owner after I finished eating and thanked him for my nice lunch. He shared with me some of his life stories which I felt very special and honored since I'm a total stranger to him. I will go back and enjoy some more sushi here. Highly recommended!"

I tried small bites of many different options, and 90% was just plain bland and under seasoned. Pepper steak, blah, spicy pork, ehh no, baked salmon, over cooked until it turned almost white, pork dumplings, tasted gummy and raw. The seafood surprise was good, it appeared to be seafood and I hope I don't get a surprise later! The kitchen area was very loud. We were seated all the way across the restaurant, in a booth by the farthest wall, and the yelling in the kitchen very audible. Not too sure I'll come back."

We started with the SUMMER ROLLS: Shrimp, noodles, green leaf lettuce, arugula, carrot, cucumber, fresh mint and scallion, wrapped in soft rice paper. Served with peanut sauce. Nice flavor, lots of fresh veggies, good peanut sauce. My cousin and I both had the NOODLE BOWL with shrimp: Choice of protein, vermicelli rice noodles, green leaf lettuce, arugula, pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, fresh mint, cilantro, fried shallots, crushed peanuts and scallion oil served with chile lime dressing. I really liked this. Lots of fresh veggies, fresh shrimp. Love the scallion oil on top, along with the peanuts. Very filling. Overall a nice spot for Vietnamese food. Jeff R. "This was my first visit to Thai Paradise. Ordered larb, and mango curry with shrimp. I think I might have been expecting a bit more upscale decor, but being in a strip mall should have clued me in. It's just a few tables (ours wobbled) and those industrial kitchen chairs from the 80's, but hey, this visit was about the food, not the furnishings.I'd never had larb before and wanted to give it a go. Minced chicken and beef, some spices, served with lettuce leave so you can make a lettuce wrap. I preferred eating it with rice instead of the lettuce. (I deducted a star due to some of the lettuce leaves being wilted and brown on the edges.) It was supposed to be hot, but I didn't think it was. It could have used a sauce or something because it was rather dry. I guess that's part of the authenticity, having it the way the regular Thai folks do.The mango curry was excellent! It had a bit more kick than the larb, and I thought it could have used a little more heat, but the flavor profile was spot on. The shrimp were very large and cooked perfectly. The two ladies working up front were wonderful, very personable and professional. They answered questions and made a bit of small talk. All in all, I enjoyed meeting them, and I'm planning to head back soon. There is a lot more on the menu I'm ready to try."

Jason W. "Summary: The sushi's not quite up to the level you'd get in a major city but for Jonesboro it's pretty good.My son wanted sushi for his birthday so after trying (and only being moderately impressed) with another sushi restaurant in town he decided to take a chance on Chin Chin. Being his birthday, we decided to get a variety of rolls for all of us to share and then individual meals for each of us. The sushi was 5 star level for Jonesboro...probably 4 stars if you were in a Little Rock or Memphis or other major city. The flavor of the fish was pleasant and the only knock I have is that they use a bit too much sauce on the rolls. Still, we devoured them very quickly once we received them.My General Tso chicken was some of the best I've had in a while. It was actually HOT (spicy) instead of just tangy. The temperature of the food was nice and hot as well, which I like. (I don't mind having to wait a few minutes for the food to cool so I know it's cooked all the way through.)My son ordered the chicken Udon soup noodles and wasn't entirely happy with it. Said the flavor was rather bland. He barely ate a quarter of it. (Felt horrible that it happened on his birthday. :( )Bottom line: Chin Chin is in the upper level of sushi and Chinese food restaurants for the Jonesboro area."

The staff is extremely friendly and are good at providing information on their dishes as well as recommending their favorites! My group had the char siu pork bun, the fried chicken bun, edamame, Tokyo tonkotsu ramen, volcano ramen, seafood ramen, and vegetable stir fried ramen. Everything was absolutely delicious!! All of the soup ramens had very silky and well seasoned broth, and the stir fried ramen had a good flavor as well even without the broth. The char siu was melty and the fried chicken was crispy. I HIGHLY recommend the buns if you're looking for an appetizer!! Your food also comes to you on an adorable little cat robot, which is a quirky and fun touch. The only negative was they were out of ramen eggs when we went, but they've been very busy since they opened so we can't really blame them for that! The bathrooms were very clean and so were the tables. Pro tip: the wait time here can get pretty high, but if you go in and out your name on the waitlist, they'll text you when your table is ready! Head to one of the shops nearby and you'll be called before you know it!"
