Boss & Ross Bbq

Hello my little festerlings! Your (probably not) so favorite stick burner here with yet another exciting review! Teetering between 3 & 4 stars.I am staying across the street from this place for the night, and up to my gills with Denny's so if you read my reviews, you guys know I'm very reluctant to order barbecue.Cozy little restaurant, room for maybe about 20 people to dine inside. Super clean, and basic. I love the pig out front of the entrance.Place is ran by two very nice women. I was greeted right when I walked in, but I was only really there to look and grab a menu and wasn't fully committed to ordering but I went ahead and ordered anyways. They were out of quite a few items, so I took a chance and roled the dice and ordered a brisket plate with green beans and vinegar slaw.I'm pretty sure that the green beans are canned, but they have a really good seasoning on them. I can't remember ever having vinegar slaw but it was kind of bland and okay I guess. When I ordered my brisket, the lady asked me if I wanted hot, mild, or barbecue sauce. I was kind of taken aback, and caught off guard, because I never sauce my briskets personally and I don't recall a time I've ever been asked that so I went with hot. Maybe it's just a Tennessee barbecue thing, I don't know.Immediately coming to mind, knowing they were going to put sauce on my brisket, I immediately figured it was going to be dry and chalky like most barbecue joints have that serve brisket. BUT, NOOOOO! Even without the sauce, the brisket was pretty damn tender and it's actually the second time I have found good brisket at a barbecue joint. I'm not really too sure what this sauce is, but it is fire!!! I'm pretty sure if it were for sale in grocery stores, it would fly off the shelf.So in a nutshell, I'm pretty pleased. If I'm ever back in this area, I would definitely order food again.

What a great place !!! The ribs are so fresh , tender and fall off the bone ! Seasoning is perfect ! The brisket sandwich was amazing . The owner brought our food out to us , seen we had a dog and even brought him out about a pound of brisket just for him . Had nice country atmosphere . Must stop over here in Jackson TN. You'll get REAL bbq!!!!!

Stumbled upon this little gem of a barbecue place while searching for another place that wound up being out of business. Excellent pulled pork and vinegar slaw and the rest of the fare looked really good. Not fancy, but spot on good. The place is small, 4 inside tables, and it's behind a truck stop, but it's clean, bright and the staff was super-friendly. If you're on I-40 near Exit 85 and you're hankering got some excellent barbecue, this is the place.

This is the BEST BBQ I've ever had!! The wait time is not long @ all,the food, oh 5he food is sooooooo good! The employees are friendly and polite,very professional. The portions are amazing I will definitely be returning,I highly recommend this amazing eatery. And they have a lot of options for meals. Joshawnda and Hunter are the BOSS!! OMG sooooooo delicious are the ribs,tender and juicy!! Happy tummy

This was my second time coming here. first time they forgot to give me my extra sauce i paid for and also didn't put sauce or coleslaw on my pulled pork sandwich. I must say i did like the chicken so i decided to try them again. if you want pulled pork go to 87 BBQ, They have them beat!so i asked for extra sauce again and asked how much more for the extra sauce and the guy at the register said 50 cents, Is that Allright with you !! i was in shock because of the attitude i was getting and i said yes i need 2. then i looked up my receipts for last time i was here and seen he charged me for the sauce, so i showed him the receipts and asked for my sauce and coleslaw that i didn't receive. he looked really aggravated. chicken good but i don't think I'll be back here again. like why is it a problem to ask for the price of something that you're buying and why is there an attitude because you expect to receive your paid for items.People beware.

So I decided to try this place out. I was greeted when I first walked in. I order the 3 meat plate: I chose the ribs, brisket and chicken. I did not think that was quality bbq. For one, both the brisket and ribs had no sign that they were smoked and the chicken, brisket and ribs had no flavor. The environment wasn't ambient at all and it was too hot to dine in.

Fantastic selection of wonderful great professional staff. Nice place to eat. Highly recommend. I had the drunken chicken and it was juicy and Smokey with the right amount of heat

We love this little spot in West TN with great food! They turn sides to an art form and sides are important for a good BBQ Joint! The BBQ is served with a family friendly smile and a chefs eye! Another must try if your passing through on I-40.

Came in when I pulled into pilot gas station and seen this diamond n da rough had to check it out!!! It's a great place to stop and go cool customer service I would definitely come back if I'm around da way
