Bone's Canoe & Campground

I used the shuttle service to transport my kayak and my self . I decided to do the 10 mile trip. I was looking for a relaxing trip without being crowded. I couldn't have been more pleased to be the only one doing the 10 mile trip that morning. They use a different section of the Buffalo River than the overcrowded outfitters.

What a fantastic place to camp and kayak (or canoe)!! Monica, Evan, and their staff were wonderful. Additionally, handling the booking, payment, and paperwork could be done in advance!! I would HIGHLY recommend them. Everything was excellent... clean restrooms too!

This was a great escape from the crowded "tourist" spots in and around Nashville and the owner /operators were great. This is a simple and straightforward operation - reasonable fares, friendly owners, no gift shops, no salesperson hawking "memberships", no distractions at all. A simple office, restrooms, kayaks and vans - well, the vans are a conversation piece but they get you from point a to point b. The river is beautiful, quiet and scenic AND there's a rope on the bridge that is a ton of fun.One thing you need to be aware of, and the owners should communicate, is this river has a lot of trees and island bars with overgrowth and this presents dangers of being sucked in and capsizing which happened to one of our group members and she was trapped under her kayak for a few seconds. This is not anything the operator controls of course but they should certainly provide some guidance and warnings - especially for inexperienced kayakers.I recommend checking them out.

These guys are fantastic, and I had an amazing time. Changing rooms were very clean, people were friendly, canoes and kayaks were in good shape, and the foot was a lot of fun. I'm definitely going some more.

This place was just what we needed for a getaway from Nashville for the weekend. It's the true experience in camping.. great campsite, firepit, river near the campsite. Tenting with riverview :) What's better than that? It's primitive camping only ..meaning no electric hookups. Nature at it's best! So quiet, only the birds waking ya up come sunrise. On Sat/Sun you can do the boat rentals on a 5 or 10 mile trek. (Friday's,too, I believe... if reservation made). Lots of canoes and kayaks available. Nicest family ever that runs the place.. surname Bone, thus the cool signage as ya enter the campground. Really beautiful spot on the Buffalo River, easy to get to and food choices nearby! Go enjoy this beautiful part of middle TN at Bone's .. a really great family business!

We love this place!! Evan and Monica are the best! We come here every summer just about every weekend and its always a great time!

My son and I did Bone's 10 mile float. Bone's is truly a family run enterprise with welcoming and friendly staff. Additionally, their location is much closer to I-40 than other outfitters, making this a convenient place for a day trip. Highly recommend you give them a try for your next Buffalo River float.

Bones canoe rental charged us $78 to shuttle our own canoe 10 minutes down the road. And we also had to wait an hour before we actually got on our way to the put in spot. Even though we had a blast on the river I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I definitely won't be back. Rip off

We visited Bone's today. One kayak rental and 2 shuttles. The 5 mile trip. Great folks. Reasonable rates and friendly service. Easy access. The run was okay but man the Buffalo River has a LOT of downed trees along the way that, for me, made the float a bit less enjoyable. Obviously this is no fault of the great family at Bone's. Scoped out the primitive camp sites and we are likely to return for a weekend and try out the whole Bone'sexperience.

Second time kayaking here. Best place by far in the area. 5 stars for everything from the checking in process the customer service and the river. Will definitely return again.
